AKB48 and Big Bang top this week’s Oricon physical music charts! 11/24-11/30

The Oricon physical music charts for the week of 11/24 – 11/30 have been released!

AKB48 breaks another record with release of their 25th consecutive chart topping single “Kibouteki Refrain” with Oricon officially recognizing them as first female artists in Japan to sell over 30 million singles. For the album charts, Korean boy band Big Bang‘s 5th Anniversary collection album “The Best of Big Bang 2006-2014” has entered at the number one spot selling 120,442 copies.

Tracklist Announced For Utada Hikaru’s Tribute Album

As previously reported, the tribute album “Utada Hikaru no Uta” will be released on December 9. The list of artists featuring on the album has already been announced. Today, the list of songs those artists are doing was released. Utada’s official YouTube page has also released previews of 4 of the songs on the album. Check it all out after the jump!

King Records official youtube channel has uploaded the short ver. video of Tomomi Itano’s latest single “COME PARTY!” This upbeat EDM inspired track is sure to get dance floors all across Japan burning.  Will you be blasting this at your upcoming Holiday gatherings?

“COME PARTY!” will be released on December 17th.

B’z announce New Single, New Album, and Hall/Arena Tour

Hard rock duo B’z have just made several major announcements for the coming year, confirming that they’ll be returning to full activities as a group.  Firstly, the band will be releasing their 51st single “Uchouten” (“Ecstasy”) on January 14th of next year, with the title track set to be used as the theme song for the Nihon TV drama “Gakkou Kaidan”.  “Uchouten” will be B’z’ first single in almost 3 years and will come with one coupling track titled “Endless Summer”; the release’s Limited Edition weill also include a Live DVD of their “B’z Special LIVE” show at EX THEATER ROPPONGI from November 30th of last year.

In addition, though no release date has been confirmed, B’z have also announced that their 19th studio album “EPIC DAY” will be released at some point in 2015.  As a result, they’ll be going on their “B’z LIVE-GYM 2015 -EPIC NIGHT-” tour between March and the end of May in support of this new album.

Vogue Japan Names Its Women Of The Year For 2014

On December 1, at The Grand Hyatt Tokyo, Vogue Japan held a ceremony for its Women Of The Year 2014. Four women were given this honor. Because of Vogue Japan currently celebrating its 15th anniversary, they also decided to make a new special category: Women Of Our Time. This award honors women who have continued to shine throughout the years. Six women were given this honor. Find out who these lauded women are after the jump!

Acid Black Cherry announces new nationwide tour

Acid Black Cherry has announced a new nationwide tour “Acid Black Cherry 2015 tour L- El -“.

The tour kicks off March 10th and will be in support of his upcoming studio album “L” due out February 4th.  Tickets for the concert will be available starting December 10th via the “up rise shop” until December 15th. The general public will be able to purchase tickets starting on February 21st.  Dates and venues for all the shows can be seen below!
