KANJANI8 and Mr.Children top the Weekly Oricon Charts! 6/1-6/7

The Oricon physical music sale charts for the week of June 1st to June 7th has been released!

KANJANI8’s first single of the year “Tsuyoku, Tsuyoku, Tsuyoku”  was released on June 3 with sales of 156,448.

Mr.Children have released their first album in 3 years in two versions: “REFLECTION {Drip}” and “REFLECTION {Naked}”. “REFLECTION {Drip}” is a 14 track album that will be released in a Regular and Limited edition, the latter of which will include an hour-long Documentary DVD chronicling the release’s recording process. In its first week, the album sold 355,268 units securing its first position on the charts.

Wakusei Abnormal Releases Trailer for Their New Mini Album

Female rock duo Wakusei Abnormal will release their new mini album “Kokoro Koko ni” on July 22. This is the band’s first release since their mini album “Anata Sonata” in October 2013. “Kokoro Koko ni” sees Wakusei Abnormal working with producer Suzuki Daichi Hideyuki, who has worked with the likes of Ikimonogakari, YUI, and Leo Ieiri. The visuals for the album are a collaboration with fashion magazine NYLON JAPAN. NYLON JAPAN, along with music site OTOTOY, have come together to offer a track off of “Kokoro Koko ni” for free. The song is titled “Jinsei wa Romantic” and it is the 5th track on the mini album. It is available for download here until June 18.

Today, the band released a trailer for their new mini album. The trailer displays a variety of sounds, including rock, pop, and electronic. Visually, it’s vivid and features the duo in a variety of outfits. Check it out after the jump along with the mini album’s cover and tracklist!

KEN THE 390 Releases PV for “Take it EZ”

As previously reported, KEN THE 390 will release his new album “WEEKEND” on June 17. The rapper has now released the music for the album’s 6th track, “Take it EZ.” The funk-tinged song was produced by Takeuchi Tomoyasu. The HAVIT ART STUDIO-directed music video continues with the throwback theme, taking place in a retro diner and its parking lot of vintage cars.

KEN THE 390 is in a bit of a retro mood with this album it seems. He recently released the music video for “Bangin’ -Weekend Classic Edition-.” It’s the same music video as the original version of “Bangin'” but with a funkier mix laid on top. “Bangin’ -Weekend Classic Edition-” is the 7th track on “WEEKEND.”

DOUBLE Releases Short Video for “Circle of Life”

As previously reported, DOUBLE is releasing her new digital single “Circle of Life” on June 10. She recently released a short video which features the mid-tempo R&B song. Meanwhile on iTunes, UNISON SQUARE GARDEN topped the chart with “Sugar Song and Bitter Step.” It sold 48,162 copies.

Kago Ai’s husband arrested on domestic violence charge

It was reported by the Japan Times earlier that Kago Ai‘s husband, Kago Haruhiko (47), has been arrested on charges of domestic violence. The former Morning Musume member and current leader of idol group Girls Beat!!! reported the assault which took place in their Roppongi condominium on May 12th.

TV Tokyo Announces the Lineup for Tele To Ongaku Sai (2)

On June 24, TV Tokyo will air the second edition of its midyear music special Tele To Ongaku Sai. This program debuted last year. It will air from 6:30 PM – 10:48 PM JST. It will be hosted by TOKIO’s Kokubun Taichi and TV Tokyo announcer Ohashi Miho.

Yun*chi reveals cover + details for new single “Lucky Girl*”!

The cover and tracklist information for Yun*chi’s upcoming single “Lucky Girl*” have been revealed. The singer will be providing her first opening theme to anime Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life on July 15th. With art direction by Yuni Yoshida, Yun*chi portrays “a girl who grants luck” with a mature air and a lighthearted twist in the form of the red lipstick applied by her index finger.
