YUKI will be singing the theme song for the movie Grasshopper starring Ikuta Toma, Asano Tadanobu and Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke. Her song “tonight” will be released as a single on November 4.
As reported, Ikuta will play Suzuki, a former schoolteacher who infiltrate an underworld organization and take revenge on the person who murdered his girlfriend. He will meet Kujira (Asano), a killer who manipulates targets to suicide and Semi (Yamada), a kinife – wielding assassin.

On September 9, Czecho No Republic released their new album, “Santa Fe.” The album comes in 2 editions: a CD+DVD Limited Edition and a CD only Regular Edition. The Limited Edition DVD features footage from the band’s show at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall. “Santa Fe” has 11 tracks, one of which is “Oh Yeah!!!!!!!”, which served as the closing theme for “Dragon Ball Kai.”
Czecho No Republic recently released the music video for the album’s 5th track, “Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun.” The clip is an homage to the love affair between John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It has been rumored for years and now it’s been made official.
On September 11, TOKIO’s Kokubun Taichi announced his marriage via a card sent out to “Johnnys Fan Club” members, with a message “At this time, I, Kokubun Taichi, will be getting married.”
Kokubun and his wife, Ms. A, a former TBS employee has been dating for about 7 years, have submitted their marriage registration before the filming of his daily morning program at TBS. The date of their wedding reception is still undecided. It was reported that the couple are already living together. The two got acquainted through work in 2005 and started dating in May 2008. Kokubun himself admitted to the relationship in a women’s magazine in March 2009. His wife left TBS at the end of 2010.
Last month, hip hop / jazz band SANABAGUN signed to major label Victor Entertainment’s CONNECTONE sub-label. SANABAGUN has been generating a buzz for a while due to their weekly street lives near Tokyo’s Shibuya Station.
The band will make their major label debut with the album “Major”, which comes out on October 21. Ahead of the album’s release, SANABAGUN has released the music video for its closing track, “Ningen.” In the clip, the band’s members can be seen sky diving from an altitude of 4400 meters (14,436 feet).

This year marks the 5th anniversary of TV Asahi’s Dream Festival. This year’s event will be taking place at Yoyogi National Gymnasium on November 21 – 23. There will be 18 acts performing, and 16 have been announced so far. Find out who those acts are after the jump!
