We’re back with this week’s edition of Oricon Flashback. This is where we look back on what topped Oricon this week 5, 10, 15, and 20 years ago. Think of it as a way to reminisce and learn about the past of Japanese music.

Kis-My-Ft2 is set to release new singles in two consecutive months. The two singles will serve as theme songs for member Tamamori Yuta’s upcoming drama and movie.

The first of this release is the single AAO, written and composed by Naoto Inti Raymi. The song is the theme song for NTV’s “Seishun Tantei Haruya” drama airing in October.

Their second single release is scheduled on November 11. Titled “Saigo mo Yappari Kimi”, the song will serve as theme song for the movie ‘Rain Tree no Kuni’ also starring Tamamori. The movie will hit theaters on November 21.

The song is a ballad number that was written by Tsunku♂. Regarding this song, he commented, “It has become a song that will warm your hearts and it’s filled with members’ passion, innocence, and attractiveness, so I’m happy with it. Kis-My-Ft2 member Kitayama Hiromitsu stated, “We hope that you can be completely absorbed in Tsunku♂-san’s worldview and our song.” Tamamori also commented “I’m happy that I can be a part of both works as well from the music side, through the theme songs.”

The song previews, tracklist and covers for the single AAO are found below. The main trailer for the movie Raintree no Kuni starring Tamamori Yuta and Nishiuchi Mariya is also out, featuring the theme song “Saigo mo Yappari Kimi”.

“Although Hikaru is suffering from chronic sleep deprivation due to breastfeeding her child, it seems that she has started creating new songs at the end of August.”, reports a music official who is an acquaintance of Hikaru Utada (33).

Hikaru got married to Italian barman F (24) last February and gave birth to a baby boy in June of this year. Currently, the three of them reside in London but it seems that they are moving to Japan in Summer 2016. At the time of his first ever visit to Japan, her son will be one year old.

Nishino Kana will release two best albums, “Secret Collection ~ RED ~” and “Secret Collection ~ GREEN ~” simultaneously on November 18.

The announcement was made via her official web program “KANA CHANNEL” last September 18. A selection of previously released singles, coupling songs and album tracks will be made to show her various charms.

Her first best album collection “Love Collection ～pink～” and “Love Collection ～mint～” were released in September 2013. This time, the two titles means “to dig deeper into pink and mint.” Further details such as album tracks will be released at a later date.
