The Oricon physical music sales charts for the week of 10/19-10/25 have been released!
Hey!Say!JUMP’s latest single “Kimi Attraction” tops the singles ranking with 202,688 copies sold in its first week.
Arashi top the album chart with their latest studio album “Japonism” (820,208 copies sold). This number exceed the first week sales of their 2009 best-of album “All the Best! 1999-2009” which eventually sold 1.9 million copies in Japan alone.
On November 25, Kato Miliyah will release a new single titled “Lipstick.” Miliyah sees “Lipstick” as a continuation of her 2005 song “Dear Lonely Girl.” Fans have grown up with Miliyah in the decade since the release of “Dear Lonely Girl”, so she sees “Lipstick” as a song that will represent where her audience is now in their lives: working women who are looking for love. To link this single to “Dear Lonely Girl” even more, it will feature a remix of “Dear Lonely Girl” as one of the coupling tracks.

On December 2, Hoshino Gen will release his new album, “YELLOW DANCER.” The album sees Gen exploring black music, something that he is a fan of. Today, he released more information about the album. The album will have 14 songs. The Blu-ray and DVD that comes with the limited editions of the album features footage from his concerts at Budokan from this past August. There is also commentary on these discs from Gen and some of his friends. The booklet that comes with all the editions of the album except for the CD only Regular Edition includes interviews with Gen, essays by him, and commentary on the album’s music written by Gen.
The cover of “YELLOW DANCER” depicts the rear view of a maiko’s head. The image is composed of household items like books, dishes, utensils, bananas, and a cat. Check it out after the jump, along with the album’s tracklist!
On November 25, Frederic will release a new mini album titled “OTOTUNE.” The title is a play on the word “autotune.” The band says it means to make sounds align with feelings. This will be Frederic’s first release since the band’s drummer’s recent departure.
Today, Frederic released the music video for “Toumei Ningen.” It is the fourth track on “OTOTUNE.” The song talks about the importance of face to face communication in the digital age. Rumors are swirling that Hoshino Gen and Nikaido Fumi are a couple. The pair first worked together on the 2013 film “Jigoku de Naze Warui.” A few months ago, they reunited to star in a short film for cosmetics company Shiseido. The rumored couple has a 13 year age difference; Gen is 34, while Fumi is 21.
On October 28, KOHH will release his new album “DIRT” physically. The album has already been on sale on iTunes worldwide since this past Friday. The limited edition of the album comes with a DVD containing music videos for every song on the album. There are 13 music videos in total. KOHH has previously released the music videos for “Living Legend” and “Dirt Boys.” Today, he released previews for the 11 other music videos.
