Popular indie rock band syrup16g have announced that they will be releasing a new full-length album on November 16th. This release is to be titled “darc” and will be the first new studio album from the group since their return to the scene with 2014’s “Hurt”. Of note, the band worked on “darc” with original collaborator Shuichi Watanabe, aiming to create a record that captured the same feeling which pervaded their first album “COPY”.
In addition, syrup16g will also be embarking on a short tour this winter in order to support the new release. The “syrup16g tour 2016 ‘HAIKAI'” will see the band play at nine venues across Japan and will be preceded by a one-man show on November 1st, which will showcase the songs from their upcoming album.
Read on below for a look at the cover and track list for “darc”, and expect further updates about the album as its release date draws closer.

Sexy Zone will soon be celebrating their 5th year anniversary! Time surely flies, it was in 2011 when tiny Marius debuted at the age of 11 and now he’s taller than everybody else in the group.
The groups’ 12th single “Yobisute” will be released on Oct 19. Wanting to change something, I tried calling your name with “yobisute (no suffix).” This is Sexy Zone’s first medium tempo, ballad single. A best of album (Title TBA) will also be released on the day of their anniversary, Nov 16.
Now that their anniversary is coming, time to check out the latest from the group. How much taller did Marius grow? How is Shori as the designated center? Is Fuma still trying to be an Akanishi 2.0?
Suzu Hirose lands the lead role in the new film, “Cheer☆Dance ~ A True Story of High School Girls’ Journey to the Top in America ~”. Like the long title says, the film follows the true story of a Japanese cheerleading team competing in an American competition.

It was announced on September 23 that Makoto Shinkai’s “Kimi no Na wa.” (also known as “your name.”) sold over 7.4 million tickets, grossing over 10 billion yen at the box office.
This makes “Kimi no Na wa.” the first animated movie to reach this milestone that is not produced by Studio Ghibli and the first to do so since 2013’s “The Wind Rises” (Hayao Miyazaki).
During the last day of the Kanjani8 Recital tour held last September 28, Kanjani8 made several announcements regarding future releases. Noticeably lacking is the yearly album that’s usually released towards the end of year. To compensate for that, the group announced 2 new singles, a DVD and a Dome Tour.
“NOROSHI” which will serve as the theme song of Ikuta Toma’s “Mogura no Uta” movie sequel will be released in December. “Naguri Gaki BEAT”, theme song for member Yokoyama Yu’s “Hamon Futari no Yakubyougami” will be released in January. These new singles come after the “Panorama” single to be released on October 12.
The group will also embark on a 5-Dome Tour, the 4th time they will be doing so, scheduled from December to January. It’s titled “Kanjani’s Eightertainment”. What’s the concept of this ‘Eightertainment’? Fans can try guessing as there will be no new album to serve as the concert base.
In addition, “Kanjani8 Recital Manatsu no Orera wa Tsumi na Yatsu” DVD/ Blu-ray will be released on Nov 16! This features the Okinawa performance held last September 3.
Meanwhile, check out the details of the group’s newest single “Panorama”, which also includes a Nishikido Ryo x Ohkura Tadayoshi unit song.
Teasers and visuals are out for the live action adaptation of Hatsuno Sei’s HaruChika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru “concert band youth mystery” novel series. The movie will be released on March 4, 2017.
Sexy Zone’s Sato Shori and Rev. from DVL’s Hashimoto Kanna co-star for the film. How does the leads’ chemistry fare? This will be a central focus as the movie will be a different Haruchika which focuses on the relationship between the leads and will not include much mystery-solving aspects of the story or the novel’s love triangle.
Following the author’s comment to director Ichii Masahide “You can do whatever you want if Haruta, Chika, and Kusakabe-sensei are still in the film. But Instead, please show me and the fans of the novel series a totally new story that fits the length of a feature film.” Koide Keisuke joins the cast as instructor Kusakabe Shinjiro.
