“On a dark and stormy night….” is how many stories and °C-ute‘s new video for “Dreamlike Climax” start. Featuring a sampling of Beethoven‘s Modschein Sonate we’re given an energetic , but haunting, dance track; and the music video definitely took it’s cues from this. Taking place within a mansion with baroque-styled interiors, the group are stuck within a time loop as the reminisce about the ‘dreamlike’ love from their previous encounters. As with all Hello Project groups, dancing is always featured in their videos; though this time it seems as if °C-ute is dancing with a little more energy, heart and soul in each step. Come watch their “Dreamlike Climax“.
Singer/songwriter illion (otherwise known as RADWIMPS’ vocalist Yojiro Noda) released his new album “P.Y.L” this week on October 12th. In support of this release the music video for his song “Hilight”, which features rapper 5lack, has now been published to his official Youtube channel.
The PV was directed by Yukihiro Shoda (known for his work with Sakanaction and androp) and boasts appearances by not only illion and 5lack, but also by actor Shota Matsuda, who is a close friend of Noda’s. As for the video itself, it features footage recorded over a 24 hour period at a hotel in Okinawa’s Kitanakagusuku village, aiming to capture the differences and similarities between each of the worlds these creative figures inhabit.
You’ll find the MV for “Hilight”, as well as previews of other album tracks “Miracle”, “85”, and “Told U So” (featuring backing vocals from Aimer) just below the cut.
In late August we reported that songstress Yumi Matsutoya would be releasing a new studio album titled “Uchuu Toshokan” on November 2nd. Ahead of this date, she has now made all of the information about this new record, including its cover and track list, available to the public. The cover and other artwork related to the release were designed by Chie Morimoto, who also worked on Yumi’s previous album “POP CLASSICO”.
In addition, Yumi also published the short version of the music video for the release’s title track to her official Youtube channel. The PV is meant to evoke memories of sci-fi films from an era gone by, such touches particularly evident in the shot composition and color gradient.
