iri is a new singer-songwriter from Zushi, Kanagawa Prefecture. She was born in 1994. While she was in college, she self-taught herself how to play guitar. She began singing along to her guitar playing. In 2014, iri won “JAM”, an audition organized by fashion magazine NYLON JAPAN and Sony Music. The prize was a chance to study abroad in New York City. The following February, she appeared on and wrote the lyrics for the Sekiguchi Shingo song “Tsunai da Mirai”, which was used in the movie “Terrace House Closing Door.” That August, she released a two-track limited live house release. Since then, she’s been playing various live houses, clubs, and festivals. iri will release her debut album, “Groove it”, on October 26 on Victor Entertainment.
Even though iri plays acoustic guitar, her music crosses genres, even including a hip hop influence. This is displayed in the list of producers on the album: Yaffle of Tokyo Recordings, mabanua, YOSA, and Kenmochi Hidefumi of Suiyoubi no Campanella.
iri recently released the music video for her song that was produced by Yaffle, “rhythm.” The clip finds iri wandering around Tokyo at night. Check it out after the jump, along with more information on her debut album!
On October 26, LILI LIMIT will release their first full album, “a.k.a.” This album is the band’s third release of 2016, and their first since their major label debut, July’s “LIVING ROOM EP.” Two songs from that EP are included on “a.k.a.” LILI LIMIT’s new album comes in a limited edition and a regular edition. The limited edition comes with a DVD that includes music videos as well as live footage. Check out more information on “a.k.a.” below!
On November 9, CICADA will release their second album, “formula.” Today, the band released the music video for the album’s seventh track, “Yureru Yubisaki.” The clip consists of a man and a woman performing an underwater dance. The video’s sleek and sensual visuals complement the song’s polished blend of R&B, hip hop, and jazz. Check it out below!

Just yesterday, the official twitter of TV Asahi News disclosed the news of Kaneta Kimotsuki’s passing away at the age of 80. The voice actor died on October 20, in the midst of his pneumonia treatment, according to the official statement from his agency.
As a voice actor, Kimotsuki’s was most famous for his role in Doraemon. He originally voiced Takeshi “Gian” Gouda in the original 1973 TV anime series before switching to the role of Suneo Honekawa in the 1979 series, replacing Shun Yashiro. His career as Suneo then continued until the series rebooted in 2005 with an all-new cast.
The entertainment company behind EXILE, J Soul Brothers and E-Girls LDH has announced their plans to expand to the global market and “establish a system to create world-class entertainment” in 2017.
With goals to create entertainment that can be enjoyed by people in the whole world, just like Disney and Universal Studios, LDH president EXILE HIRO took to the company’s official website with the details.
“National boundaries and time difference are no longer a problem in enjoying entertainment,” explains HIRO. “Under such an environment, LDH will build activity bases all over the world to expand entertainment network from a strategic perspective.“
