Bungou Strays Dogs gets animation movie and stage play adaptation

Manga and anime licence “Bungou Strays Dogs” will receive a movie featuring a new story.

The manga series is drawn by Kafka Asagiri and Harukawa35 since 2012. The anime, made by popular studio Bones, aired in two 12-episodes arcs, respectively in spring and fall seasons of 2016.

The story follows Atsushi Nakajima, an orphan abruptly kicked out of the orphanage after being suspected of being the origin of mystical tiger attacks. He is left wandering through the city, where he meets and saves eccentric Osamu Dazai from drowning. Suicide enthusiast and supernatural detective, Dazai is investigating the same tiger. As various events take place, Atsushi is coerced into joining their firm of supernatural investigators, taking on unusual cases the police cannot handle, alongside his numerous enigmatic co-workers.

While the first season closely follows Atsushi Nakajima, the first part of the second season went further into the past of the famous character Osamu Dazai before continuing where the first season concluded. From the poster and rumors, this new movie seems to feature Osamu Dazai’s past.

It was also been announced that the licence will get a live stage adaptation.

More information about both the movie and the live stage are to come.

Alternative idols BiSH release new Music Video for “Promise the Star”

Alternative Idols BiSH just released a new Music Video for “Promise the Star“, title-track of the unit’s second Major single set to be released on March 22nd.

The video shows the six girls dancing and singing on top of a skyscraper in Tokyo, summoning a pretty suggestive atmosphere, that also highlights a noticeable improvement (in terms of quality) from the unit’s past videos. The MV also follows the story of a girl who’s clearly not having a good time with her classmates, for whatever reason. The track follows the pattern BiSH has been adopting since going Major, with a solid Pop-rock structure coupled by symphonic elements that emphasize the girls’ voices.
