Earlier today, Fuji TV aired its second annual spring music special, Uta no Haru Matsuri. The show featured performances by the likes of Arashi, WANIMA, Little Glee Monster, and AKB48. Check out the full show below!

Suchmos, Seiho, never young beach, and More to Pay Tribute to Petrolz on New Album

On March 22, “WHERE, WHO, WHAT IS PETROLZ?”, a tribute album for the band Petrolz, will be released. The album will see the likes of Suchmos, Seiho, never young beach, Lucky Tapes, and ORIGINAL LOVE covering Petrolz’s songs.

“WHERE, WHO, WHAT IS PETROLZ?” will come in a limited edition and a regular edition. The limited edition will be released in an of 5,000. It will include a 108-page photobook shot by Matsumoto Naoya, chronicling the band from 2009 til now.

iri Releases Full Details on Her New Single “Watashi”

On March 22, iri will release her first single, “Watashi.”  The song serves as the campaign song for Nike Women’s “Watashi ni Odoroke” campaign. “Watashi” was written by iri, composed by iri and Kenmochi Hidefumi, and arranged by Kenmochi. One of the single’s B-sides, “blue hour”, has the same credits.

iri recently release the music video for “Watashi.” The clip for the groovy, upbeat track features iri casually walking around Tokyo, clad in streetwear. Check it out below, along with more information in iri’s new single!

JUJU to Release New Single “Because of You”

On March 22, JUJU will release her new single, “Because of You.” The song serves as the theme song for the Japanese release of the American movie “Passengers”, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. One of the single’s B-sides, “Waraereba”, is a cover of the Ulfuls’ 2002 song of the same name. JUJU’s version of the song appeared on the Ulfuls tribute album, “Ulfuls Tribute ~Best Of Girl Friends~”, last month.

The music video for “Because of You” was recently released. It features clips of JUJU on board a space ship mixed in with scenes from “Passengers.” Check it out after the jump, along with more information on the single!

On March 22, Fuji TV will air its second annual spring music special, Uta no Haru Matsuri. The show will begin at 7 PM JST and end at 11:38 PM JST. The show will be hosted by Love music’s hosts, Chisato Moritaka and Watabe Ken, along with Kato Ayako. It will also feature talk guests, including Takei Emi and Miura Shohei. Performers on the show include WANIMA, Nishino Kana, miwa, and AKB48. Arashi will also be performing on the show, debuting their new single, “I’ll be there.”

Kazumasa Oda pens a new song for the latest NTT Higashi Nihon Commercial

Following up on the success of his compilation album last year, popular singer/songwriter Kazumasa Oda has revealed that he’s written a brand new track to be used in the new NTT East commercial.  This CM is based around the idea that “Together, we’ll try our hardest” and stars baseball player Ichiro Suzuki of the Miami Marlins, showcasing his workout routine and how he constantly works to improve himself.

While the song used in the commercial has yet to be titled, it features a strong cast of performers, with Yoshiyuki Sahashi on guitar, Nathan East on bass, Mansaku Kimura on drums, Takako Matsu providing choral vocals, and the Kinbara Strings Group handling all remaining stringed instruments.  A second version of this CM, featuring a different portion of the song, will be made available on Friday.
