As avid drama followers have noticed, TV ratings are not what is used to be a decade ago. With regards to the changing times and TV viewing trends, let’s talk about the term Time – shifted viewing (TSV). This is in acknowledgment of the diversity in how consumers view media and advertising. Simply put, this metric provides viewer ratings aside from “real time” viewing ratings. Yes, it’s that point where viewers do not watch live but watch shows on their smartphones or PCs at a later time.
Y’all Arama readers, I’m not very knowledgeable on this but I did some uhhh, research for everyone. Please feel free to share inputs. More on that below!

It was recently announced that popular rock band Mr.Children will be providing the theme song for the upcoming film adaptation of Yoru Sumino’s best-selling novel “Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai”. The movie will tell the story of the narrator – referred to only as ‘I’ – whom during a visit to the hospital discovers the diary of classmate Sakura Yamauchi and learns that she has a terminal pancreatic illness. Set in both the past and the present, “Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai” will explore both the narrator’s interactions with his classmate following this realization, as well as the reflections of himself and one of Sakura’s close friends years after she passes away.
The narrator’s past self will be played by DISH//’s Takumi Kitamura, while his present self will be played by Shun Oguri. Sakura is set to be played by Minami Hamabe, and last but not least, her friend Kyoko will be played by Keiko Kitagawa.
When considering the kind of theme song that would be best for the film, its staff desired a track which would be able to be paired with I’s ruminations on the past, yet also convey these feelings in a manner that people from every generation would be able to empathize with. As such, the production team reached out to Mr.Children, whom accepted the offer and provided their new song “himawari”. Described as an impressive and powerful track with an emotive melody, “himawari” will be played at the movie’s conclusion, serving as an answer song from ‘I’ to Sakura.
While no details about the release of “himawari” have been revealed yet, you can find the film’s first trailer right after the jump.
Following up on their return to the scene last year, alt. rockers THE YELLOW MONKEY have announced that they will be releasing a compilation album next month on May 21st. Titled “THE YELLOW MONKEY IS HERE. NEW BEST”, this best is both a celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary as well as an ‘answer album’ to their vote-determined “FAN’S BEST SELECTION” which was released back in 2013.
The best’s 16 tracks were carefully curated by the band in order to provide a concise, but complete look at exactly who they are musically. This will be supplemented by the inclusion of a special single CD containing new song “Roseana”, the first sign of the group’s upcoming original album.
Read on below to find the cover and track list for THE YELLOW MONKEY’s ‘New’ Best album, as well as the full PV for “Roseana”, which features a look into the recording studio as the band perfects the track.
Electropop trio color-code is keeping steady their monthly release plan they began this January with “Sakura Ame”. As it seems they can give more than one song per month, they have been also able to film and release a MV for their March single “parallel world” and hold handful of performances on the streets. And if that’s not enough, they have had another surprise prepared: the single release for March was coupled with two B-sides: “so long -monochrome-“ and “Cinderella”. The A-Side “Better Days” is a positive mellodic sweet song, while “so long -monochrome-“ is a traditional melanchollic ballad, a style that color-code first tried with “Sakura Ame”. But this doesn’t mean this single is all about mellow tunes: “Cinderella” is an EDM track that swings between poppier and harder parts. Check these three songs just after the jump!
