Winners have been announced for the 7th annual “CONFiDENCE AWARD DRAMA PRIZE”, the drama series eligible for the awards must have began airing in the Winter 2017 drama season. The awards are organized by a subsidiary of Oricon called “oriconME”, and sponsored by the popular weekly business magazine “confidence”. An esteemed and varied panel of judges consisting of university professors, columnists, writers, and consultants determine the winners.
TBS drama “Quartet” completely dominated the awards, nearly getting a full sweep. Out of the 7 categories Quartet won 5 of them, including “Best Drama”, “Best Script” and “Best Leading Actress”. “Quartet” is about four 30-something strangers who all have dreams unfulfilled. Through a chance meeting they all decide to live together in the small resort town Karuizawa, forming the musical group Doughnuts Hole. But naturally there’s a big secret behind this “chance” meeting.
The other drama series to win awards was Uso no Sensou, former SMAP member Tsuyoshi Kusanagi took home the prize for “Best Leading Actor”. Yuki Saitou won “Best Supporting Actress” for her role in “Okaasan, Musume wo yamete ii desuka?”

KAT-TUN member Kazuya Kamenshi has announced his very own solo tour! The upcoming tour is titled “KAT-TUN KAZUYA KAMENASHI CONCERT TOUR 2017 The -> (The First) ~Follow me~ Besides the tour dates, the only details regarding the set of concerts released thus far is the tour’s logo, a pair of lips with “Follow Me” written on them.
Kazuya’s tour will begin on July 13th, 2017 at the “Kobe International House”. 38 performances are scheduled in total spanning 17 venues nationwide. The grand finale will take place on October 30th, 2017 at the Edogawa cultural centre. The announcement of Kazuya’s first set of solo concerts has caused much excitement among Johnny’s and KAT-TUN fans, he is expected to draw more than 100,000 fans during the entire run.

On May 24, tofubeats will release his new album, “FANTASY CLUB.” Ahead of the album’s release, he’s released the music video for the album’s collaboration with KASHIF, “WHAT YOU GOT.” The video is interesting in that it uses what appears to be stock footage of people dancing. And it’s not even good dancing, but instead some of the cheesiest possible. Check it out below!
On May 31, Shiina Ringo will release her new live DVD / Blu-ray, “Shiina Ringo to Kyatsura ga Yuku Hyakkiyako 2015.” Ahead of this release, she’s released a number of videos to give fans a taste of what is to come. In addition to a digest, she’s released five performance videos. Four these these videos are from original 2015 concert (the first disc of the release), while the fifth is a performance from 2016 (on the second disc). Check them out below!
