Two and a half years after the release of his previous record, “Songs of Four Seasons“, jazz and electronic singer MARTER has announced that he will be releasing a new album on May 27th. Titled “This Journey”, the album is centered around the acoustic guitar, an instrument which MARTER has only started to learn to play relatively recently.
On the same date he will also be releasing two of the songs from the record, “Won’t You Come Back” and “Shine Your Light”, as a 7-inch analog single. You don’t have to wait until then, however, as you can take a listen to both of these tracks right now on Spotify. They each feature a number of notable performers, from saxophonist Uyama Hiroto to percussionist Minoru Toyoda.

Following a few months of silence, hard rock duo B’z have announced that they will be releasing a brand new Double A-side single titled “Seimei / Still Alive” on June 14th. Their first such release since 2015’s “RED”, “Seimei” has been picked up as the next CM song for UCC’s Unsweetened Black Coffee product line, while “Still Alive” served as the theme song for winter drama “A LIFE ~Itoshiki Hito~”.
“Seimei / Still Alive” is currently planned to be released in three different versions: a Regular edition, a Limited edition which will include a DVD containing the PV for “Still Alive”, and a special “B’z×UCC” edition which will come packaged with both a custom coaster and a postcard which can be sent in for a chance to be one of 10,000 lucky winners selected to receive additional goods.

Kis-My-Ft2’s new single “PICK IT UP”, theme song for “Sakurako-san no Ashimoto niwa Shitai ga Umatteiru” featuring member Fujigaya Taisuke will be released on June 7th! Announced during the Music Station episode aired last Friday, Kanjani8 is the final cast attending the outdoor festival “METROPOLITAN ROCK FESTIVAL 2017”. METROCK is an outdoor event held in Osaka and Tokyo, and this year will take place on May 13, 14, 20, and 21. Kanjani8 is added as a surprise guest performing at the WINDMILL stage at Wakasu Koen Park, Tokyo on May 21. As per the announcement, tickets are already sold out for this show. This is the first time the group is attending an outdoor festival.
The group might have skipped last year in releasing their album but it looks like it might be worth the wait. On June 28, the group will be releasing their newest album “Jam” . The new album will include five singles released as well as new songs with contributions by top artists and producers that they have connections with through TV Asahi’s regular program “Kanjam Kanzen NenSHOW!” Packed with everything Kanjani8 and their ripening over one year and seven months, “Jam” has been put together. Full of pop, rock, and a variety of music, it is a new album that has something to offer to fans of all music genres.
Contributing artists for the album include Nise Akira (Hoshino Gen), Okazaki Taiiku, Koichi Tsutaya, BEGIN, Mizuno Yoshiki (Ikimonogakari) and UNICORN. Group songs written and composed by the members “Ikiro” (Shibutani Subaru), “JAM LADY” (Yasuda Shota) and “Traffic” (Nishikido Ryo) are included.
chay will be releasing her 2nd album “chayTEA” on June 14. The title is a play on the words ‘chai tea’, and the album cover resembling a tea can with chay in the center of the frame appropriately depicts the motif.
The album will contain 14 songs in total and will include singles released since 2015 “Suki de Suki de Suki Sugite”, ” Egao no Gradation”, “Sorede Shiawase”, “Unmei no I Love You” and “Koi no Hajimari wa Itsumo Totsuzen ni”.
