On October 17, the supergroup Genie High will release their self-titled debut mini album. This release will contain six songs, including their debut song “Katame de Ijou ni Koishiteru”, which was released as a digital single this past March.
“Genie High” will come in a CD+DVD limited edition and a CD-only regular edition. On the limited edition DVD, the band’s keyboardist, Niigaki Takashi, will play a talk show host, with a show titled “Room of Takashi”, modelled after Kuroyanagi Tetsuko’s iconic talk show “Tetsuko no Heya.” On “Room of Takashi”, Takashi will interview each member of Genie High individually.
Genie High recently released the music video for the band’s theme song. “Genie High no Theme” features each member of the group dropping some bars. Check it out below, along with more information on their debut mini album!

Former Morning Musume member Sayumi Michishige has released the full MV for her song “Loneliness Tokyo“!
“Loneliness Tokyo” is an original song created for Michishinge’s performance piece “SAYUMINGLANDOLL“. Michishige teamed up with Hello!Project’s former head honcho Tsunku, who provided the song writing and composition.
In a fax sent to Japanese media outlets, V6 member Junichi Okada and actress Aoi Miyazaki shared that they had successfully given birth to a healthy son!
The first child for both, Okada and Miyazaki originally announced that they were expecting in May 2018.
Back in March, 16 year old Omoto Honoka was found hanging after skipping an event for her idol group, Enoha Girls. Her family is now suing the company behind the Ehime Prefecture idol group for her death, saying that the company caused it due to harassment and overwork.
Honoka’s family’s lawsuit is against the president of the talent agency H Project, along with three other employees. The Omoto family is seeking damages in the amount of ¥92 million. “We want the company to speak about (what happened) as it is, without bending (the truth),” said Omoto Yukie, Honoka’s mother, at a news conference.
H Project’s president, Sasaki Takahiro, admitted to the press that he feels responsible for not being able to save Honoka, but added, “Some parts of the claims by the bereaved family are not true.”

Mr.Children topped the Hot Albums chart with their new album “Jyuryoku to Kokyu.”
DA PUMP topped the Streaming Songs chart for the 16th non-consecutive week with their single “U.S.A.”
Yonezu Kenshi retook the top spot on the Download Songs chart, topping it for the 15th non-consecutive week, with his single “Lemon.”
Yumi Matsutoya topped the Download Albums chart for the second consecutive week with her newly available digitally best album “40 Shunen Kinen Best Album ‘Nihon no Koi to, Yuming to.’”
One of the highest accolades one can receive during their entertainment career is the “Best Jeanist” award! Japan is quite renowned for their love of denim, so it’s no surprise the origins of the award date back to 1984.
It’s awarded to a pair of celebrities who know how to wear their denim, and look good doing it. Sponsored by the “Japan Jeans Council” it continues to be a popular annual event. The top male and female winners are voted in by the general public, runner ups also receive an award.
Taking the top spot this year is Hey! Say! JUMP member Yuto Nakajima and model Nanao.
