Popular fashion house Samantha Thavasa will be celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and they are going all out with the festivities! Founded in 1994 by Kazumasa Terada, it contains multiple lines including “Samantha Thavasa Deluxe”, “Samantha Vega”, and “Samantha Thavasa New York” catered to multiple different market segments.
They are perhaps best known for their various purses, extremely popular with women in their teens and 20s.
Samantha Thavasa recruited famed photographer Leslie Kee for their 25th anniversary campaign, and even created their own “We Are The World” style MV called “ONE-we are one-“.
Last week girl group Keyakizaka46 released their 8th single “Kuroi Hitsuji“. Oricon has reported that the single has sold an impressive 771, 135 units.
Billboard Japan reported a slightly lower number at 745,566, but the single easily topped the digital charts on billboard widely securing it’s spot at the top of the Hot 100 Chart.
Singer Mariya Takeuchi has been selected to sing the Japanese version of the upcoming live-action remake of “Dumbo“.
The original “Dumbo” film was originally released back in 1941 by Walt Disney. “Baby Mine” was included in the 1941 animated film, in a very touching scene the song is sang by Dumbo’s mother. It has gone on to be covered in multiple languages by different artists all over the world, and now Mariya can be added to that list!
Keyakizaka46 member Risa Wantanabe is gearing up for the release of her very first photobook. The title still hasn’t been determined yet, but it will hit store shelves on April 10th, 2019.
To tide fans over until the release, six preview images have been released. Shooting for the photobook took place in Miami, and the photographer took full advantage of the colorful city.
Actress Mari Natsuki has been recruited to promote the popular job searching website Indeed. Their latest campaign involves Mari turning into One Piece character Dr. Kureha.
Proving that age is nothing but a number, the 135+ year old doctor resides on Drum Island. Wearing a crop top with a matching blazer and pant, she has a unique approach to her treatment of patients. Kureha also serves as the mentor for the shows mascot Tony Tony Chopper.
It looks like Sakura Miyawaki will have some company in being a J-POP video game streamer, Sandaime J Soul Brothers member ELLY has joined the trend by uploading his own video to YouTube!
The video was uploaded on ELLY’s solo YouTube channel, which prior to the Fortnite uploads only had one video up. Uploaded back in December 2015, it featured BTS footage from LDH group PKCZ’s Halloween Live under the name of his rap moniker CRAZYBOY.
