Sakanaction unveil 80s-inspired Music Video for “Wasurerarenai no”

This week electronic rock band Sakanaction released their long-awaited seventh studio album “834.194“. In order to further promote this record, the quintet have now published the music video for album opener “Wasurerarenai no” to their YouTube channel.

This PV, which was directed by frequent collaborator Yusuke Tanaka, attempts to bridge the styles and sounds of the early 1980s with the current era. Kyusaku Shimada, who stars in the Softbank commercial which this track serves as the theme song for, also makes a surprise appearance in the video.

WANIMA to release New Single “Summer Trap!!” in July

Just over four months after the release of their previous single, “Good Job!!”, pop-punk band WANIMA have announced that they will be releasing another on July 17th. Titled “Summer Trap!!”, this will be the group’s fifth single together and is currently set to include four new songs.

Notable inclusions on the release are the band’s Mitsuda Cider CM track, “Natsu no Dokoka e”, as well as their theme song for the upcoming animated film “One Piece: Stampede” – “GONG”. Ahead of the single’s July street date, “Natsu no Dokoka e” – and all of the group’s prior material – has now been made available on both digital distribution and streaming services.

Yuzu showcase concert footage in their Music Video for “SEIMEI”

Back in May folk/pop duo Yuzu released their latest digital single “SEIMEI”. Now, nearly two months later, the pair have chosen to upload a music video for the track to their YouTube channel.

The PV features footage from the group’s recent Hikigatari Dome Tour, cutting together performances of the song from each individual date. Of note, the video’s conclusion centers around an expansive light show that precedes the reveal of the “Yuzudrasil” tree, which served as the tour’s symbol.

KREVA to Release Self-Cover Album

KREVA is currently celebrating the 15th anniversary of his solo debut. As part of this celebration, he’s spent the last few months releasing new versions of his old songs in a band format. These new versions will appear on his new self-cover album, “Seicho no Kiroku ~Zenkyoku Band de Torinaoshi~”, out June 19. The album is released in two limited editions, CD+Blu-ray and CD+DVD, and a CD only regular edition. The limited editions also include a photobook. Check out more information on this release below!

Three songs from 2019 were certified Gold this month for selling 100,000 copies: Aimyon‘s “Haru no Hi”, Suda Masaki‘s “Machigai Sagashi”, and LiSA‘s “Gurenge.”

AKB48 announce Indian sister groups DEL48 & MUB48

Another international sister group of AKB48 is on the way. India’s capital New Delhi will be getting it’s very own idol group DEL48, along with MUB48 which will be based out of Mumbai, India.

Back in 2011 AKB48 began their oversea expansion with Indonesia’s JKT48. The project turned out to be a success and the expansion has went on to include BNK48 (Thailand), MNL48 (Philippines), AKB48 Team SH (China), AKB48 Team SP (Taiwan), and SGO48 (Vietnam).

Kato Miliyah Glows in “Ai ga Furu” PV

New mother Kato Miliyah will release her new single, “Ai ga Furu”, on June 19. This single, her first since May 2018’s “ROMANCE”, is part of her 15th anniversary celebration. Its release is also three days before her 31st birthday.

“Ai ga Furu” also includes the song “Darling”, which Miliyah debuted at a show at Billboard Live TOKYO last December. The limited edition of the single includes a DVD featuring footage from that concert.

Miliyah recently released the music video for “Ai ga Furu.” The video was shot while she was pregnant and she radiates with the new life inside her. Check it out below!

Oricon Releases Its 2019 Mid-Year Charts

After Billboard Japan released their mid-year charts for 2019, it’s now Oricon‘s turn! This chart covers the period from 12/24/18 to 6/17/19.

AKB48 topped the Combined Single and Single charts with “Jiwaru DAYS”, while Nogizaka46 topped the Combined Album and Album charts with “Ima ga Omoide ni Naru Made.”

Yonezu Kenshi‘s “Lemon” topped the Digital Single chart, while Hoshino Gen‘s “POP VIRUS” topped the Digital Album chart. Aimyon‘s “Marigold” topped the Streaming chart.
