Aya Ueto Gives Birth to Her and HIRO’s Second Child

Last month, Aya Ueto and HIRO revealed via fax that she was pregnant with the couple’s second child. The child, a boy, has now arrived! In a joint statement, the couple announced that both mother and child are healthy. They also expressed thanks and promised to continue to work hard in both their public and private lives. The baby boy’s exact birth date was not revealed.

Hinatazaka46, Arashi, RADWIMPS, and Official HIGE DANdism Top the Oricon Chrts for the Week of 7/15 – 7/21

This week, Hinatazaka46 topped the Combined Single chart with their new single “Do Re Mi Sol La Si Do”, with 459,486 points in its first week.

Arashi retook the top spot on the Combined Album chart with their best album “5×20 All the BEST!! 1999-2019”, with 70,889 points in its fourth week, topping the chart for the second non-consecutive week.

Hinatazaka46 also topped the Single chart with “Do Re Mi Sol La Si Do”, selling 448,706 copies in its first week.

Arashi also retook the top spot on the Album chart with “5×20 All the BEST!! 1999-2019”, selling 70,889 copies in its fourth week, topping the chart for the second non-consecutive week.

RADWIMPS topped the Digital Single chart with their new digital single “Ai ni Dekiru Koto wa Mada Aru Kai”, selling 54,758 copies in its first week.

RADWIMPS also topped the Digital Album chart with their new soundtrack “Tenki no Ko”, selling 12,648 copies in its first week.

Official HIGE DANdism topped the Streaming chart for the ninth consecutive week with their single “Pretender”, with 3,547,055 streams in its 12th week.

Hiromi Uehara to release her first Solo Piano Album in 10 Years

Well-known jazz pianist Hiromi Uehara has announced that she will be releasing a new record titled “Spectrum” on September 18th. This marks her first new album since 2016’s “SPARK” (with her Trio Project) and the first solo release under her ‘Hiromi’ moniker since 2009’s “Place to Be”.

“Spectrum” will focus on Hiromi’s newer compositions, including her “Shin Bi no Kyojintachi” opening and ending themes “Kaleidoscope” and “Once In a Blue Moon”. In advance of the album’s release, its title track has been made available for digital download.

Flower Companyz to release 30th Anniversary Album “50×4”

Old-school rockers Flower Companyz are currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of their initial formation. As part of the festivities, the group have announced that they will be releasing a new studio album titled “50×4” on September 4th.

“50×4” will be the band’s 17th longplay together and will include 12 newly recorded songs. Of note, the record’s monochrome cover art was shot by Takao Tajima, better known as musician ORIGINAL LOVE.
