This week, Eito topped the Combined Single chart with his digital single “Kousui”, with 19,668 points in its first week in the chart’s top 10.

JUJU retook the top spot on the Combined Album chart with her best album “YOUR STORY”, with 9,452 points in its fifth week, topping the chart for the second non-consecutive week.

HKT48 retook the top spot on the Single chart with their single “3-2”, selling 7,189 copies in its third week, topping the chart for the second non-consecutive week.

JUJU also retook the top spot on the Album chart with “YOUR STORY”, selling 8,272 copies in its fifth week, topping the chart for the second non-consecutive week.

Utada Hikaru topped the Digital Single chart with her new digital single “Time”, selling 32,177 copies in its first week.

Ayumi Hamasaki topped the Digital Album chart with her best album “A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~”, selling 1,486 copies in its first week topping the chart.

Eito also topped the Streaming chart with “Kousui”, with 5,112,742 streams in its third week in the chart’s top 10.

Avex CEO Max Matsuura (55) took to his official Twitter account today to reveal his intention to step down from his primary position within the company at an upcoming shareholders meeting next month.

Avex was founded by Matsuura in 1988 as a wholesale distributor of imported records, where he acted as the company’s Managing Director. After great success as a music producer in the late ’90s, Matsuura was appointed as the president of the company September 2004, additionally taking on the role of Representative Director in 2005.

In his TwitLonger message, Matsuura looks back at his 16 years as CEO: “I can look back [at my time in this role] as a good experience today, but during that time, I didn’t feel like myself. Every day was a challenge.”

NEWS member Tegoshi Yuya has been refrained from participating in the limited time unit “Twenty ★ Twenty” for ‘going out unnecessarily’ during this pandemic’s restriction period. The special unit was supposed to be comprised of 76 artists from 15 groups for a charity song “smile”.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2020 has been canceled. Originally scheduled to take place August 8 – 10 at Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture, the festival’s lineup included Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, NUMBER GIRL, HYDE, and BiSH, among others.
