The winners of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards Japan have been announced! Yonezu Kenshi, Aimyon, Fujii Kaze, and NiziU are among the winners, while Tsuneta Daiki (King Gnu / millennium parade / PERIMETRON), YOASOBI, DISH//, and JO1 are among the winners of the special awards.

On November 29, the big prize, the Best Video Award, will be handed out at “MTV VMAJ 2020 -THE LIVE-.” The Best Video Award award will be voted on by viewers online from among the winners of the other regular categories. Voting is now open here.

BiSH will host “MTV VMAJ 2020 -THE LIVE-.” The show will feature performances by Aimyon, BABYMETAL, Creepy Nuts, DISH//, E-girls, Eito, Hinatazaka46, JO1, Little Glee Monster, Macaroni Enpitsu, and NiziU. The show will air from 8 PM JST – 10:30 PM JST on MTV Japan and Hulu.

Folk singer Ichiko Aoba has announced that she will be releasing a new full-length album titled “Adan no Kaze” on December 2nd. This will be Aoba’s first longplay since 2018’s “qp” and her seventh studio effort in total.

“Adan no Kaze” has been described as the soundtrack for a fictional movie, wherein the collected songs will tell the film’s story. Ahead of the record’s street date, its lead track “Porcelain” has been released as a digital single – along with a pairing PV on Aoba’s YouTube channel.

Singer Miliyah Kato has announced the release of her very first cover album titled “COVERS – WOMAN & MAN-“. As indicated by the title Kato will be covering a variety of songs from both male and female artists, she has separated the covers for a two disc collection.

Disc 1 will contain female covers and opening the album is Shiina Ringo‘s classic song “Honnou”. Namie Amuro, Kumi Koda, and Cocco are other artists whom Kato will be covering. Disc 2 opens with King Gnu‘s hit “Teenage Forever”, and will feature covers from RADWIMPS, Dragon Ash, and Fujii Kaze. Check out the full tracklist below:

Nogizaka46 and it’s ace Mai Shiraishi has finally said goodbye, as of October 28th she is no longer of a member of the idol group after successfully completing the concert “NOGIZAKA46 Mai Shiraishi Graduation Concert ~Always beside you~”.

As a member of Nogizaka46, Shiraishi enjoyed a successful 9 years of being an idol. She debuted in June, 2011 as a first generation member of Nogizaka46 quickly becoming one of the standout members. She would go on to become one of Japan’s top idols.

Shirashi’s graduation was originally announced in January, 2020 and was planned for May, 2020 at Tokyo Dome but was canceled due to COVID-19.

During the concert Nogizaka46 performed their many chart toppers including “Synchronicity” and “Girls Rule”, the latter being the first single that Shiraishi was center position in.
