Miss Corona hit us like a brick wall last year and our lives have hardly resumed as normal. If quarantining taught a lot of us something, it’s valorizing our time spent at home. Discovering new hobbies, picking new interests, renovating the house, enjoying new artists…
This newfound time to spend at home has been an opportunity for a significant surge of entertainment consumption, such as Netflix subscriptions, record gaming sales, and for Japan, it coincided with Kimetsu no Yaiba box office record.
But my personal downfall into ‘quarantine self-indulgence’ wouldn’t be binge-watching TV shows or gaming… I actually unexpectedly fell into the Japanese housewives’ lavish lifestyle vlog rabbit hole…never really managed to get out of it.

Actor and singer Suda Masaki has become quite known for his unique sense of style, especially when compared to his other young actor peers. He recently updated his Twitter account where he showed off a drastic new hairstyle promoting his upcoming live event.
This caused quite the stir, as it was the number #1 trending article on multiple entertainment websites. It’s currently still the #1 trending article on Oricon! Suda showed off a dramatic perm making his hair extremely poofy, hidden behind a mask and glasses.

Popular convenience store chain Lawson held an audition exclusive to women working at the company. Titled “Lawson Dream Artist Audition” the winner was set to receive a contract with Warner Music Japan and be produced by Yasutaka Nakata!
The winner turned out to be Momo Mashiro who successfully won the audition singing YUKI’s song “Yorokobi no Tane”. She wowed judges with her powerful, but pretty sounding voice. However, this audition took place between September – December 2016, and Momo was supposed to debut way back in Spring 2017.
