Shishido Kavka shows her girly side with ‘Dame kashira?’

‘Dame kashira?’ is a new summer pop-rock single from Shishido Kavka. The song, out July 2nd, is about a girl whose lack of interest in life changed with her excitement for summer.

Originally a member of the rock band The News, Kavka debuted as a solo musician in 2012 and has continued showing different sides of herself since. ‘Dame kashira?’ is the definitive girly summer song, new territory for the typically edgy rock musician who only wears black.

The video opens with a pajama-wearing Kafka getting ready for a day in the sun. The chorus explodes and she is suddenly alongside her own team of cheerleaders, American football players, Elvis impersonators and sailors. Check out the short version of the video below.

Kaela Kimura releases ‘OLE!OH!’ Short PV

Iconic aural artist Kaela Kimura (29) scalps her contemporaries with the unveiling of her new ‘OLE! OH!’ promotional video. It showcases a story of a young girl who tries to break out of her shell and come into her own by following a cheerleader biker girl gang led by a bowlcut-mulleted Kimura.

Last year, Kimura established her own private label on Victor Entertainment in celebration of her 9th anniversary. This venture allows her complete creative control of all aspects of her career. ‘OLE! OH!’ marks her first original single under it and features production by Chris Chu of American indie rock band POPETC.

‘OLE! OH!’ comes out July 9th and will be available in two different versions: regular and a special edition that comes with a Botanical Art handkerchief.

Perfume WORLD TOUR 3rd Announced

Following their overseas performances in four Asian countries in 2012 and the three European countries in 2013, Perfume has announced “Perfume WORLD TOUR 3rd” for Fall of this year. This international tour covers new territory for the group and will include stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Taiwan, Singapore, and London. Official Perfume Fanclub members get early access to a pre-sale lottery ticket starting June 24th, but for the rest of you general admission dates are still to be determined.

It was also announced that there will be a video release of Perfume’s WORLD TOUR 2nd. The release showcases exclusive footage from the July 5th London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire performance. It will be available in DVD and Blu-ray.

Ami Suzuki releases special app for 15th anniversary

Ami Suzuki’s official website has announced that the singer will be receiving her own app in celebration of her 15th anniversary. Ami Suzuki got her start while auditioning on the television talent show ASAYAN, Ami eventually won the competition and was rewarded with a recording contract, and the opportunity to become the new muse of Tetsuya Komuro.  Her debut single “love the island” was released on July 1st 1998.

Ami Suzuki shake” is a collaboration with developers “duuob inc.”, it’s a fast pace rhythm game where you have to hit buttons in tune with the song playing. In the past duuob inc. has created shake games for many high profile Asian acts including T-ara, Girls Generation, and BIG BANG.  Downloading the app is free but in-order to play full songs you must purchase them, one pack costs 500 yen for three songs.  Playing songs on certain difficulty levels allow you to win special cards depicting previously unpublished Ami pictures. The available songs in the game span her 15 year long career.

Koda Kumi Announces Release of Summer Single ‘HOTEL’

Like clockwork, pop diva Koda Kumi will be releasing a refreshing new summer single entitled ‘HOTEL‘ due out August 6th. These annual singles are based on specific theme based around travel themes and feelings you would experience on vacation.

In the cover art, Kumi is dressed in pastel colors displaying the charm of an adult woman. Per formula, the title track ‘HOTEL’ is the definitive mid-tempo dance number with an epic, worldly sound. It’s followed by ‘MONEY IN MY BAG’, a R&B Hip HOP number. Finally there is ‘TURN AROUND’, the emotional ballad. It will be available in three versions: CD, CD+DVD and CD+DVD <FC/Playroom Exclusive> with previews available on the official rhythmzone website.

Kumi is starting her 2014 a little late but we’re sure whatever she is releasing is going to be a bop.

YUKI announces “Daredemo Lonely” as Lead Single to New Album

YUKI‘s highly anticipated single “Daredemo Lonely” will be released on August 20th.

“Daredemo Lonely” is a melodious four-to-the-floor dance song that will serve as the lead single from her upcoming album “FLY”. The single will be available for download digitally on Itunes and Recochoku on August 6th preceding it’s physical release.

YUKI will go on a four month nation-wide concert tour entitled “Flyin ‘High ’14 ~ ’15” to promote her new album starting this October. Ticket sales begin Tuesday, June 24 on her official site.

SHUN’s “Never Change” Chosen as Naruto Ending Theme

Singer SHUN‘s newest single “Never Change” featuring Lyu:Lyu will be released July 23rd. It was announced by TV Tokyo that the song is to be the ending theme of the endlessly popular anime Naruto: Shippuden starting July 3rd.

SHUN is incredibly excited his song was chosen to be on such a prolific anime, commenting that “the song’s message to never give up your dreams will inspire everyone who listens.”

The single will be available in both a regular and limited edition version. It contains two coupling songs with features from Beat Buddy Boi and Mirei Toyama, a promising 15 year old singer-song writer who will make an appearance at the BET AWARDS 2014 this month.
