Singer-songwriter Nanami debuts with passionate song ‘Ai ga Sakenderu’

From Oita prefecture, singer-songwriter Nanami cries out her love in major debut single ‘Ai ga Sakenderu’ due out October 8th.

She career was jump-started when she won first place in the Yamaha sponsored ‘The 6 The Music Revolution JAPAN FINAL‘ in 2013 for her overwhelming singing ability and performance. Since then, she has caught the attention of her home prefecture and the island of Kyushu by providing music for CMs and themesongs for regional programs.

She will debut as the second artist under the label e-stretch RECORDS after Yoshizawaka Yoko.

Chatmonchy continues activities + new backing band + new single

For the past several months, rock duo Chatmonchy had been dormant following the birth of vocalist and guitarist Eriko Hashimoto’s son in October of last year.

With the backing support of Ryosuke Shimomura from the chef cooks me on keyboard and Akira Tsuneoka of Hi-STANDARD on drums, a newly reorganized Chatmonchy performed at ‘ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2014’ after nearly a year and a half since their last live performance. They took to the GRASS STAGE, the festival’s largest and most prestigious stage.

Tackey & Tsubasa reveals steamy covers for summer single ‘Dakinatsu’

Tackey & Tsubasa will be releasing a new single, ‘Dakinatsu’ on August 20. Recently, Avex has updated the single details with the covers. Featuring a fast style arrangement and sexy lyrics, Dakinatsu is set to heat up summer. Tsubasa has told fans: “Get hot with Dakinatsu this summer!”

The duo is also reported to be releasing a new album within a year and go on tour, but specific dates were not announced. Tackey said it will take place at least by winter.

Aqua Timez unveils ‘Hina Yume’ PV and ‘Elf no Namida’ album video digest

Recently we reported on Aqua Timez’ new album release and tour. More details has been released by the band, including the album’s jacket covers, bonuses and new PV. Their 6th album, ‘Elf no Namida’ will come in two main editions and a fan club edition. The DVD tracklist will also include 4 videos for – Eden, Tegami Henshin, new song Hina Yume, and a special footage documentary.

Electro duo CAPSULE announce new album for 2014

It has been revealed via their official website that electronic music duo CAPSULE, consisting of members Yasutaka Nakata (also the music producer of Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu) and Toshiko Koshijima (CAPSULE’s vocalist), will be releasing their 15th original album sometime later in 2014. This will be their second release since transferring to the unBORDE sub-label of Warner Music Japan last year. Further details such as the album title, cover art, promotional pictures and tracklisting will come out in the near future, so please look forward to it.

Maiko Fujita performs Frozen’s ‘Let It Go’ a capella with 20 vocal layers

Another interpretation of the popular Frozen tune has been released! This time, Maiko Fujita has uploaded a music video for her version of ‘Let it Go ~Ari no Mama de~’ where she rerecorded the instrumental purely with her vocals.

Fujita noted she had a few days off at the end of June and wanted to play around in the studio. She listened to the instrumental of the original song and sang each part by ear until she realized she had recorded 20 parts.

Fujita, who entered the scene in 2006 with her first indie single, commented, “My hobby of music turned into my job. To be able to ‘play around’ and immerse myself in music after a long time was a lot of fun.”
