Halloween is still a relatively new tradition in Japan, considering it’s context is largely based off American pop culture. Every year however it seems the spooky tradition is grabbing hold of more people.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has made global headlines after publicly addressing his sexual orientation for the first time in an essay written for Bloomsberg Buisnessweek. In the essay he stated “I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me”. Cook has been open about his sexuality for years and many of his Apple co-workers were already aware of his orientation, but he sought to focus on Apple and keep his personal life private.
Naturally, netizens had something to say in-regards to his statement. How did they take the news?
Up-and-coming rock band THE ORAL CIGARETTES recently published the music video for their new song ‘STARGET’ to the A-Sketch official Youtube channel. The PV finds the band rocking out hard under the watchful eye of several colored strobe lights, all the while a set of masked circus performers dance about the stage, adding their own talents to the act.
‘STARGET’ is the lead track off of the band’s first full album ‘The BKW Show!!’, which is set to drop in a couple of weeks on November 12th. Throughout the month of November THE ORAL CIGARETTES will be embarking on a short live tour in support of said release; titled ‘The BKW Live Show!!’, the tour will feature them playing live in-store at several Tower Records locations.

Kanjani8′s lead singer, Shibutani Subaru, plays “Pochio”, a young man who has lost his memory but not his ability to sing. Music themed film “Misono Universe” deals with this man, who rushes the stage of a live performance and takes the mic. The young man’s singing impresses the band and the band’s manager, but they learn he suffers from memory loss and he has no idea who he is. He meets Kasumi, played by Nikaido Fumi, manager of the band Akainu, and decides to face his past and regain himself. The movie is set in Osaka.
The movie’s trailer has been released and we can hear previews of the songs used. The scene starts with Pochio, covered in scratches, singing Akiko Wada’s “Old Diary” before suddenly fainting and falling. In scenes with co-star Nikaido, such as him getting beaten and beating up a guy, 2 new songs can also be previewed, titled “Kokoro Odoriba” and “Memory (Kioku)”

To commemorate the November 4 launch of the brand “Charming Kiss” new cosmetics product line, a music video with the same title has been released. “Charming Kiss” is AAA Chiaki Ito’s first solo original song, and the track is created with the voices of AAA’s Chiaki and her vocaloid “Chika”.
The music can be downloaded from the music card that comes with the new Ito-produced cosmetic line. In addition, handshake meeting & lottery for four locations in Osaka (6th), Nagoya (7th), Tokyo (13th) and northern Kanto (14th) will be held in December.

As previously reported, KinKi Kids will be releasing a new single “Kagi no Nai Hako“ on November 12. The title track is an up-tempo number with an airy, melancholy feel written by Matsui Goro, a frequent collaborator of V6, Shizuka Kudo and dream. Previews for their new PV are also out. The music video was filmed in “one-cut” and Domoto Tsuyoshi and Domoto Koichi quickly move to the next set to film in time.
In addition, the duo also announced a new album “M” to be released on December 10. Kinki Kids has since been naming their albums with the letters of the alphabet, starting with “A”, now they are down to “M”. The album will contain 2 Discs and will have the theme of [Memories & Moments], representing the evolution of the duo. DISC 1, titled “side Moments” provides long-awaited and highly anticipated new songs including the single “Glorious Days ~Tada Michi wo Sagashiteru”, while DISC 2, titled “side Memories” consists of re-arranged and self-cover of past Kinki Kids songs.
