On March 18, Shiina Ringo is set to release her new tour DVD/Blu-ray, “(Nama) Ringo Haku ’14 -Toshionna no Gyakushu-.” This tour was held late last year in support of her album “Hi Izuru Tokoro.” This footage is from the December 10 concert held at Osaka-jo Hall. This release has 27 songs in total. Both of these editions are housed in a hard cover book with a 3D lenticular cover. The book contains pictures from the concert, including Ringo’s several costumes. Today, Ringo released 5 clips from this release, including the hit “NIPPON”. Check them out after the jump along with the cover and tracklist.

B’z finally reveal details on their new album “EPIC DAY”

After teasing plenty of new songs, hard rock duo B’z have finally chosen to publish all of the information on their upcoming new album.  “EPIC DAY” will be B’z first new studio album in almost four years and is currently set to release on March 4th in four versions:  a CD+Live Goods package, a CD+Live DVD package, the regular CD-Only edition, and as an Analog record (which includes a digital code to download the album online).

This new release will consist of ten tracks total, among them speedy rock tunes like previously released single “Uchouten”, “Las Vegas”, and “EPIC DAY”, upbeat pop tunes like “NO EXCUSE” and “Amari ni mo”, and mid-tempo ballads like “Exit To The Sun”, “Classmate”, and “Kimi wo Ki ni Shinai Hi Nado”, providing for a fairly impressive variety given the smaller than usual track list.

You’ll find the complete listing of tracks and cover for “EPIC DAY”, as well as previews of “NO EXCUSE” and “Exit To The Sun” right below the cut.

UVERworld and MAN WITH A MISSION both provide songs for movie “Shinjuku Swan”

It was announced today that upcoming movie “Shinjuku Swan” will feature music from well-known rocks bands UVERworld and MAN WITH A MISSION.  MAN WITH A MISSION will be providing their new song “Dive” as the film’s theme, while UVERworld’s new track “Collide” will be used as an insert song during the movie.

Directed by Sono Shion and based on the original manga by Wakui Ken, “Shinjuku Swan” tells the story of Shiratori Tatsuhiko (Ayano Gou), a 19 year old without money or a job who’s recruited by a man named Mako (Iseya Yusuke) to be a talent scout for clubs and adult films.  This action-packed tale is set against the backdrop of the colourful Kabukicho, a famous red-light district in Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward.

You’ll find the movie’s trailer, which features a snippet of MAN WITH A MISSION’s “Dive”, right after the cut; UVERworld’s “Collide” is likely to be featured in later promotional material for the film, which is currently set to open on May 30th.

Yuzu to perform Theme Song for the new Crayon Shin-chan Movie

It has been announced that famous folk-pop/rock duo Yuzu will be in charge of the theme song for the latest movie in the “Crayon Shin-chan” series.  Titled “OLA!!”, the song was written especially for “Crayon Shin-chan Ora no Hikkoshi Monogatari ~Saboten Daisuugeki~” and has been described as a bright pop number with an encroaching hint of melancholy present just beneath the surface; the track will also involve many unconventional instruments such as the marimba, quena, fiddle, and maracas.

This will be the fourth time that Yuzu have provided a song for an animated motion picture, following “Doraemon:  Nobita and the Strange Wind Rider”, “Hunter x Hunter:  Phantom Rouge”, and “Hunter x Hunter:  The Last Mission”.  In addition, “OLA!!” will also be used as the new ending theme for the “Crayon Shin-chan” TV Series starting on February 6th.

“Crayon Shin-chan Ora no Hikkoshi Monogatari ~Saboten Daisuugeki~” isn’t set to release in theaters until April 18th of this year, so we’ll be sure to keep you posted with additional information about Yuzu’s theme as that date draws closer.

BIGMAMA reveal bright and blurry Music Video for “A KITE”

Last we heard from BIGMAMA, the pop-rock band was gearing up for the release of their new full album “The Vanishing Bride”, which is set to hit shelves on the 25th of February.  Now they’ve chosen to publish the music video for the album’s lead track “A KITE” to their new official Youtube channel.

This PV finds the band rocking out in a church filled to the brim with light sources, the glare from these various lightbulbs and candles causing the scenes to blur together.  The idea of the red thread of fate also appears to play a fairly significant symbolic role in the video, with a single strand finally severed at its conclusion.

You’ll find both the PV for “A KITE” and the full track list for “The Vanishing Bride” right after the jump, and please look forward to the album’s release next month!
