Daichi Miura Releases PV for “music”

Daichi Miura will be releasing his new single “music” on June 17. It is the CM song for the Japan Engineering College. The single will come in 3 editions: a CD+DVD Music Video Edition, a CD+DVD Choreo Video Edition, and a CD only edition. Today, Daichi released the music video for “music.” As previously heard in the short lyric video, “music” is an upbeat, happy tune. The music video matches the song well. Rykey Releases PV for “Baby”

As previously reported, new rapper Rykey will release his debut album “Pritty Jones” on June 3. Ahead of the album’s release, he has released the music video for its sixth track, “Baby.” The JIGG-produced song is a mellow number. The video for “Baby” was created by HAVIT ART STUDIO. It features Rykey and his girl hanging around the house, going through the ups and downs of love. Check it out after the jump!

Death Note TV Drama Main Cast

Last month, it was announced that popular manga Death Note is going to be adapted into a live action TV drama. The drama is scheduled to air on NTV, Sundays, 10:30 pm starting July. The official announcement included an image of Ryuk saying “A serialized drama…. Interesting!!…”

The drama will feature an original story not featured in the anime or movies, and a new cast. It will include the character N (Near), which will also be the first time for the character to appear in its live action adaptation. The main cast have been announced.

Soundscan Chart for the Week of 5/11 – 5/17

On the single side, Arashi topped the chart with “Aozora no Shita, Kimi no Tonari”, with its CD+DVD Limited Edition selling 342,387 copies. The 2 editions of this single took the top 2 spots on the chart. Between its 2 editions, “Aozora no Shita, Kimi no Tonari” sold 500,229 copies, making it the best selling single this week.

On the album side, A.B.C-Z took the top spot with “A.B.Sea Market”, with its CD+DVD Limited Edition A selling 13,990 copies. Between its 3 editions, “A.B.Sea Market” sold 33,146 copies, making it the best selling album this week.

Mariko Goto Resumes Activities

Back in February, it was reported that Mariko Goto was going on hiatus. Circumstances at the the time led some to believe that this hiatus was really a retirement. It also led to questions about her mental health and fears of self-harm.

Mariko has now decided to resume her musical activities. She made this announcement via Twitter. Before her hiatus, she deleted all of her previous tweets and left only one, which thanked fans for their support. She also revealed that she was in the hospital and had to sell a lot of her musical equipment in order to pay her hospital bills.

As of yet, there is no word of any future releases.

KEN THE 390 Announces New Album

On June 17, KEN THE 390 will release his new album, “WEEKEND.” The album will have 12 tracks, including the previously released songs “Pop!!”, “Bangin'” (in an altered form), and “Like This Like That.” The limited edition of the album will have a DVD containing music videos for each song on the album. “WEEKEND” features production by an array of producers, including ANNE beats, DJ Watarai, BYGdaddy, and Chiva from Buzzer Beats.
