chay’s “Anata ni Koi wo Shite Mimashita” has achieved Platinum status, meaning it sold 250,000 copies.
Several songs from this year achieved Gold status, meaning that they sold 100,000 copies. These songs were by Eir Aoi, AKINO from bless4, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Gesu no Kiwami Otome., Superfly, Nishizawa Shiena, Masaharu Fukuyama, Porno Graffitti, and Wiz Khalifa.
Jazz singer Adachi Reisaburo has recently revealed the full music video for his brand new song “Afrikan Ghostz” and published it to his Youtube channel. The PV involves a series of individuals awkwardly dancing to the vibrant tune as Adachi’s head looms in the background behind them.
“Afrikan Ghostz” is the lead track off of Adachi’s latest album “Papapapa”, which released this week on June 17th. The record features talented musicians such as cero’s Arauchi Yuu, drummer Mitsunaga Wataru, and trumpeter Miura Chiaki participating in its recording process.

Promising young rock band Kuusou Iinkai have revealed that they will be releasing their first mini-album this summer on July 8th. Titled “GPS” (“Global Positioning Songs”), the release will consist of eight brand new songs written and composed by the band, with its Limited Edition set to include a DVD that contains a live performance from Zepp DiverCity TOKYO, as well as the pair of music videos associated with the album.
These music videos have actually already been uploaded to the group’s official Youtube channel and feature them performing at two very different beach-related locations. “Gekiteki Natsu Kakumei” finds the band knee-deep in the surf as they enjoy the wonderful summer weather, while “Fujun no Uta” takes them to a seaside cove where they’re totally sequestered from the outside world.

On July 8, JUJU will release her new single “PLAYBACK.” Today, she released the music video for the fun, summer song. In a surprise move, the video is available outside of Japan. JUJU is on Sony and videos by most Sony acts are blocked on YouTube outside of Japan.
The music video for “PLAYBACK” features a cast of models enjoying a tropical summer beach vacation. There’s a lot of hashtags involved this video that serve as lessons on “HOW TO SHOOT THE PERFECT #PLAYBACK.” Check out the video after the jump!
Today, Daichi Miura released his new single “music.” He also released the choreography video for the single’s second B-side, “I Remember.” This video is included in the CD+DVD Choreo Video Edition of “music.” “I Remember” is a midtempo R&B song. In the video, Daichi dances around a set modeled after a bedroom and an all black room. He also references the group he made his music debut in, Folder, by showing their debut single, 1997’s “Parachuter.” Check out the video after the jump!
On the single side, B’z topped the chart with “RED”, with its CD+DVD Limited Edition selling 102,011 copies. Two of the 2 editions of this single took the top 2 spots on the chart. Between these 3 editions, “RED” sold 157,845 copies, making it the best selling single this week.
On the album side, Namie Amuro took the top spot with “_genic”, with its CD+DVD Edition selling 98,013 copies. Between the 3 editions of this album, “_genic” sold 148,190 copies, making it the best selling album this week.
