Back in April, it was reported that YUI had married and become pregnant. We can now report that she has given birth. Her agency has announced that she gave birth to identical twin boys a few days ago. Both YUI and her sons are healthy. YUI’s future activities have yet to be determined.

On the single side, Johnny’s WEST topped the chart with “Bari Hapi”, with its CD+DVD Limited Edition A selling 42,468 copies. Two of its 3 editions took the top 2 spots on the chart. Between its 3 editions, “Bari Hapi” sold 109,797 copies, making it the best selling single this week.
On the album side, V6 took with “SUPER Very best”, with its 3CD+DVD Limited Edition A selling 56,239 copies. Between its 3 editions, “SUPER Very best” sold 114,291 copies, making it the best selling single this week.
On September 2, seven-member unit Wagakki Band (traditional Japanese instrument band) is going to release its new album “Yasou Emaki”.
Wagakki Band is known for its unique blend of traditional Japanese music and modern rock. The music video to last year’s “Senbon Zakura” amassed over 24 million views on YouTube.
“Yasou Emaki” will feature a total of 15 tracks, 6 of which have been released as DVD singles or YouTube videos.
On August 4, it has been announced that Akira Hiramoto’s infamous manga “Prison School” will get a drama adaptation, scheduled to start in October.
The original work has been serialized in Kodansha’s Young Magazine for over 4 years now and has 6 million copies in print.
Last year, it was selected as the “Best General Manga” at Kodansha’s 37th Annual Manga Awards. The 18th volume will ship on August 6.
