Check out the teasers released for the live-action film adaptation of Fukumitsu Shigeyuki’s Seikatsu (Life) manga series, titled Hero Mania Seikatsu (Hero Obsessed Life). The film stars Higashide Masahiro, Kubota Masataka, Komatsu Nana and Kataoka Tsurutaro. The film is slated to open in Japan on May 7.
The manga features four people who have been spending their gloomy days on their own. One day, they decided to form a team together to punish the evil in their town.
- Higashide Masahiro as Nakatsu, a part-time worker in a convenience store.
- Kubota Masataka as Toshida, a man who has great physical ability.
- Komatsu Nana as Kaori, a woman who excels at gathering information.
- Kataoka Tsurutaro as Kusaka, a salaryman nearing retirement by day, and the “Youth Hitter” by night.
Today, YTV aired its year end music show, Best Hits Kayousai 2015. It was aired live from Osaka Festival Hall. The 2 hour show was hosted by Miyane Seiji, Wentz Eiji, and Nishiyama Maki. The show featured several popular acts, including E-girls, Ikimonogakari, EXILE, AKB48, Kis-My-Ft2, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Sandaime J Soul Brothers, AAA, and Hoshino Gen. On December 2, Namie Amuro will release her new single “Red Carpet.” Today, it was announced that the single’s B-side “Black Make Up”, will serve as the theme song for the “One Piece” special “One Piece ~Adventure of Nevlandia~.” This 2 hour special will air on Fuji TV on December 19. A trailer for the special, featuring “Black Make Up”, will air during the November 22 episode of “One Piece.” This is Namie’s first “One Piece” theme since 2011’s “Fight Together.”
Today, Namie also released the short music video for “Red Carpet.” It’s a muted affair, showing her walking down an alley in the coat she is wearing in the covers and promo picture for the single. Today TBS (the Tokyo Broadcasting System) has published both this year’s set of winners for the Japan Record Awards as well as the nominees for the coveted Song of the Year and Best New Artist categories. The Japan Record Awards are a Japanese music awards show akin to what the Grammies are in the United States and it can be considered a great honor to be selected for any award on the list below.
Of particular note among this year’s Song of the Year Nominations are Sandaime J Soul Brother’s “Unfair World”, Hikawa Kiyoshi’s “Itoshi no Tequiero”, Nishino Kana’s “Torisetsu”, and Gesu no Kiwami Otome.’s “Watashi Igai Watashi Janai no”. Also worth mentioning is the recipient of this year’s Album of the Year award: Southern All Stars’ “Budou”, the group’s first full album release in nearly a decade.
The 57th Japan Record Awards will air on December 30th (they will be hosted once again by actress Nakama Yukie and TBS announcer Azumi Shinichiro), which is when we’ll find out who this year’s Best New Artist will be, as well as which of the song nominations will receive the coveted Grand Prix award. This week, Johnny’s fans have something to celebrate as Kis-My-Ft2 and Kanjani8’s new releases took the top spots of Oricon’s Weekly Single and Album chart respectively.
Kis-My-Ft2’s single “Saigo mo Yappari Kimi” sold 191,328 copies in its first week on the chart, a 10,000 improvement over their previous single “AAO”.
Kanjani8’s latest album “Kanjani8 no Genki ga Deru CD!!” sold 315,905 copies, roughly 21’000 more than last year’s “Kanjanism”. This is the group’s second studio album under their independent label “Infinity Records”.
On December 30, Akina Nakamori will release her new album, “FIXER.” This is her first album since “DIVA”, which was released in August 2009. The album will include her singles from earlier this year, “Rojo -Tierra-” and “Unfixable.” “FIXER” will come in a CD+DVD Limited Edition and a CD only Regular Edition. On December 2, Tomomi Kahara will release a new cover album, “MEMORIES 3 -Kahara Back to 1995-.” As the title indicates, this album will see Tomomi covering hit songs from 1995. Ten songs will be covered on the album, including ones by globe, TRF, DREAMS COME TRUE, and Sharam Q. The album will come in a CD+DVD Limited Edition and a CD only Regular Edition. The DVD that comes with the Limited Edition will include footage from a concert Tomomi held at Billboard Live TOKYO this past September in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her debut.
Tomomi recently release the short music video for her Sharam Q cover. She’s covering their song “Zurui Onna.” Her cover sees her collaborating with Sharam Q’s guitarist Hatake. The clip sees Tomomi performing the song while surrounded by a band and dancers. Check it out after the jump, along with the album’s covers and the list of songs Tomomi will cover on it.
As we reported previously, popular jazz/rock band Gesu no Kiwami Otome. will be releasing their second full album “Ryoseibai” on January 13th next year. Now the group have revealed many of the remaining details about the album, including its full track list and the contents of the DVD included with its Limited Edition.
Contrary to prior reports, “Ryoseibai” will include 17 rather than 16 tracks, among them all of their previously released singles this era, several B-sides, and a new track titled “Kemuru” which is being used as the CM song for the mobile game “Shoumetsu Toshi” (indigo la End’s new song “Kokoro Ame” has also been picked up by the brand). The Limited Edition DVD contains footage from the band’s live performance at Yokohama Arena this past October as well as an Off Shot video of the album’s recording process; further video content will be announced closer to the album’s release date.
