As the end of the year round up continues the Kings and Queens of the CM world have been revealed by Nihon Monitor, Japan’s oldest broadcast monitoring company. Johnny’s group Arashi completely dominated the list this year with every single member appearing in the top 5. Aiba Masaki came out on top again this year appearing in CMs for 12 different companies. Among those were Mercedes Benz, Kirin Beer, and NTT DOCOMO. Professional tennis player Kei Nishikori tied with Aiba in first place, Asahi Beer, Jaguar, and UNIQLO were some of the companies Kei appeared for.
On the female side actress Yo Yoshida took the crown appearing in CMs for 13 different companies. These include Sanyo food, Lotte, Epson, and WOWOW.

The J-pop Summit regulars YANAKIKU will release a new mini album entitled “Yanakiku no Enban 2 -Yuugihen-” on December 14. To support its release, the duo shared the music video for one of the songs, “FUNK★JAPAN”. In the music video, the main character with the assistance of the duo members is celebrating both the closing of his restaurant and his estranged daughter’s birthday when she suddenly arrives with her fiancé for what symbolically could be asking for her father’s blessing (she doesn’t actually do this). This week, Keyakizaka46 topped the Oricon single chart with their new single “Futari Saison”, selling 442,322 copies in its first week.
Johnny’s WEST topped the Oricon album chart with their new album “Nawesuto”, selling 85,612 copies in its first week.
RADWIMPS topped the Oricon digital album chart for the second week in a row with “Ningen Kaika”, selling 5,156 copies in its second week.
On February 8, Suiyoubi no Campanella will release their first full major label album, “SUPERMAN.” The album announcement was made on December 7 at the group’s concert at Tokyo’s Nakano Sun Plaza. Frontwoman KOM_I reminded the audience of Suiyoubi no Campanella’s Budokan concert on March 8, and then surprised them with the album announcement.
“SUPERMAN” will feature some previously released songs such as “Aladdin” and “Kamehameha Daio.” It will be released in CD and USB versions. Check out the album’s cover and tracklist after the jump!
In 2012, CHEMISTRY celebrated their 10th anniversary. In April of that year, the duo went on hiatus, separating so that Yoshikuni Dochin and Kaname Kawabata could pursue solo careers, and in effect improve their skills. As part of their 15th anniversary celebration, the duo has announced that they are resuming their activities as CHEMISTRY.
