Shiina Ringo, Momoiro Clover Z, Masaharu Fukuyama, and More Added to 2017 FNS Kayousai Lineup

On December 6 and 13, Fuji TV will air the 2017 FNS Kayousai. A new round of performers has been announced! This new set includes the likes of Shiina Ringo, Momoiro Clover Z, Masaharu Fukuyama, Daichi Miura, Kou Shibasaki, Ken Hirai, BoA, and Yuzu.

Ringo will be making her FNS Kayousai debut this year, performing on the first night of the show. She’ll be performing two songs from her new self cover album, “Otona no Okite” and “Jinsei wa Yume Darake.”

There is also news on the show’s collaborations. Momoiro Clover Z will join Yuzu for a performance of their song “Konya wa Kimi wo Mukae ni Iku yo.” Ken Hirai will perform “Nonfiction”, which will feature a dance by Keyakizaka46’s Yurina Hirate. Kondo Masahiko will perform, backed by a band consisting of THE ALFEE’s Takamizawa Toshihiko, TOKIO’s Joshima Shigeru, Kanjani8’s Maruyama Ryuhei and Okura Tadayoshi, NMB48’s Sayaka Yamaoto, and Takebe Satoshi. Arashi will perform with Minions. KinKi Kids will perform “Mou Kimi Igai Aisenai”, accompanied by Nogizaka46’s Erika Ikuta and Miyamoto Emiri. TOKIO’s Nagase Tomoya will join Okuda Tamio for his songs “Sasurai” and “Engine.”

AKB48, Namie Amuro, and Yonezu Kenshi Top the Oricon Charts for the Week of 11/20 – 11/26

This week, AKB48 topped the Oricon single chart with their new single “11gatsu no Anklet”, selling 1,095,240 copies in its first week.

Namie Amuro topped the Oricon album chart for the third week in a row with “Finally”, selling 158,984 copies in its third week.

Yonezu Kenshi topped the Oricon digital album chart with “BOOTLEG” for the second non-consecutive week, selling 3,140 copies in its fourth week.

50th Japan Yusen Taisho Live Stream and Chat

On December 4 at 7 PM JST, TBS will air the 50th Japan Yusen Taisho. The Grand Prize will be awarded to one of the following nominees: AKB48, Otsuki Miyako, Keyakizaka46, Tendo Yoshimi, Nishino Kana, Nogizaka46, Hikawa Kiyoshi, Daichi Miura, Mizumori Kaori, Miyama Hiroshi.

indigo la End Celebrates Kawatani Enon’s Birthday with New Digital Single

indigo la End frontman Kawatani Enon turns 29 on December 3. To celebrate this occasion, the band will release a new digital single, “Touya no Magic”, on that day. This release will contain three songs in addition to the title track. One of these songs is a PARKGOLF remix of “Ai no Gyakuryuu”, which originally appeared on the band’s 2016 album, “Aiiro Music.”

The music video for “Touya no Magic” was recently released. In the clip, Enon plays a homeless street musician. Check it out below, along with more information on this release!

Box Office Charts 11/25 – 11/26: Justice League #1, Spark #2, Kaiketsu Zorori #8

Several movies decided to open on a Thursday, a bit out of the norm, to thank advantage of the Labor Thanksgiving Day Holiday.

Justice League opened at no. 1 with 133, 453 viewers and earned ¥204,425,500 on its opening weekend. Its 4 day total brings it to 285,000 viewers and ¥431,811,900, 23.5% lower than the previous DC film Wonder Woman but that’s also likely because of the film’s earlier opening day.

Horror film IT is certainly doing consistently good entering its 4th week of release. After moving up to no. 1 last week, it ranked 2nd this week. It gained total  admissions of 1,162,426 viewers and total revenues of ¥1,526,836,200.

Spark starring Suda Masaki and Kiritani Kenta opened at no.3. The film attracted 82,404 viewers (¥111,195,800) during the weekend and its 4 day total is at 164,513 viewers (¥218,885,700)

Kaiketsu Zorori Movie: ZZ no Himitsu (Kaiketsu Zorori the Movie: Secret of Double Z) opened at no. 8. The film is the franchise’s 30th anniversary work and fifth anime film. During its opening weekend, it attracted 30,403 viewers (¥33,810,760).

High & Low The Movie 3 Final Mission total admissions exceeded 680,000, revenue surpassed ¥930 million yen. Last Recipe: Kirin no Shita no Kioku moves up one spot to no.5 with total revenues of ¥925 million.
