Broadcaster SKY PerfecTV! conducted a survey asking their viewers about the landscape of female artists in Japan. With the retirement of Namie Amuro, there is a huge void left to fill. They asked viewers who they thought would be the most likely to succeed similarly to Amuro.
Both men and women participated in the nationwide survey all across Japan, the age of the participants ranged from 15-69-years-old. The survey received well over 1000 participants, and the results may seem a bit surprising!
Singer Mika Nakashima has announced the release of her very first acoustic album titled “Portrait ~Piano & Voice~“.
It will be released in the standard two versions, a CD only and limited edition CD+DVD. The track list mainly consists of a mix between some of Nakashima’s past hit songs redone in an acoustic style, and a few completely new recordings.

MISIA topped the Download Songs chart with her single “Ai no Katachi.”
TWICE also topped the Download Albums chart with “BDZ.”
This week, NEWS topped the Oricon single chart with their new single “’Ikiro’”, selling 215,058 copies in its first week.
TWICE topped the Oricon album chart with their debut Japanese album “BDZ”, selling 181,069 copies in its first week.
MISIA retook the top spot on the Oricon digital single chart, topping it for the third non-consecutive week, with her single “Ai no Katachi”, selling 23,878 copies in its seventh week.
TWICE also topped the Oricon digital album chart with “BDZ”, selling 3,103 copies in its first week.
Actress Yumi Adachi has been appointed to promote “MAGNET by SHIBUYA109“, a trendy fashion house that also doubles as an “art, entertainment, and dining hub” found in the heart of Shibuya. In a new CM the actress is transformed into a cool 80-year-old grandma!
Adachi has become quite renowned for her youthful appearance, at 37 years old she’s pretty much looked exactly the same for her entire career, which began in 1992.
