BiS member MUROPANAKO injured her left ankle

It has been announced that BiS member MUROPANAKO has injured her left ankle, as a result her future activities will be partially restricted.

The incident took place at a release event for BiS’ latest, and appropriately titled single “Against the Pain“. MUROPANKO had a small accident that took place in a store, damaging a ligament on her left ankle. Despite the accident she will still be making appearances at her groups latest nationwide tour “I don’t know what will happen TOUR”.

BUMP OF CHICKEN celebrate the season in their PV for “Hanashi ga Shitai yo”

Last week we reported that pop-rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN would be releasing a new Triple A-side single titled “Hanashi ga Shitai yo / Sirius / Spica” on November 14th.  Well ahead of this date, the group have announced that they will be releasing lead song “Hanashi ga Shitai yo” as a digital single on October 15th and, in support of this, published the track’s PV to their YouTube channel.

The magnificent Autumn ballad is paired with a comparably simple music video, featuring shots of the group performing the song while a phenakistiscope projects images onto the wall at their back.  Additionally, BUMP also recently revealed that another new song, titled “Gekkou,” will be used as the opening theme song to the currently airing anime “Karakuri Circus.”

Yu Takahashi to release his Sixth Studio Album “STARTING OVER”

Back in August singer/songwriter Yu Takahashi announced that he would be releasing his latest studio album “STARTING OVER” on October 24th.  Coming nearly two years after the release of “Kishikata Yukusue,” the new record will include Takahashi’s previously released tracks “Simple,” “Niji,” “Arigatou,” “Reportage,” “Road Movie,” and “Pride,” as well ten new tracks for a total of 16.

“STARTING OVER” will be released in three different versions:  a Regular CD-Only Edition, a Limited Edition which will include a DVD containing footage of his March concert at Pacifico Yokohama, and a Deluxe Edition which will be paired with the special photobook “TOKYO 10Years” and packaged in an LP-sized box.

Kis-My-Ft2, Mr.Children, Yonezu Kenshi, and Yumi Matsutoya Top the Oricon Charts for the Week of 10/1 – 10/7

This week, Kis-My-Ft2 topped the Oricon single chart with their new single “Kimi, Boku.”, selling 194,768 copies in its first week.

Mr.Children topped the Oricon album chart with their new album “Jyuryoku to Kokyu”, selling 309,956 copies in its first week.

Yonezu Kenshi retook the top spot on the Oricon digital single chart, topping it for the 15th non-consecutive week, with his single “Lemon”, selling 31,785 copies in its 34th week.

Yumi Matsutoya topped the Oricon digital album chart for the second consecutive week with her newly available digitally best album “40 Shunen Kinen Best Album ‘Nihon no Koi to, Yuming to.’”, selling 2,861 copies in its second week.
