Hideaki Takizawa covers “The Television” magazine for the last time

Johnny’s talent Hideaki Takizawa is making his final rounds of promotional activities. Back in the summer it was announced that his group Tackey & Tsubasa would be officially disbanding.

Furthermore, at the end of 2018 Takizawa announced that he will be retiring from entertainment activities to focus on a more behind-the-scenes roll in Johnny’s Entertainment.

Newcomer MIC releases single “DO”

There’s a new girl in town, MIC has released the MV for her second single “DO“.

Signed to Universal Japan there isn’t a lot of information about the singer, as an official website isn’t up yet. The MV simply links to her official Instagram account, and her Instagram account links back to the MV!

Tomohisa Yamashita releases his 5th album “UNLEASHED”

Today marks the release of Tomohisa Yamashita’s 5th studio album “UNLEASHED“!

This is Yamapi’s first studio album in 4 years, the last being 2014’s “YOU”. The album contains 11 tracks, and is available in three different versions. The regular edition of the album has an exclusive bonus track called “Ano Nitsu no kaori”, and first press editions come with a slipcase cover.

Vogue Japan Names Its “VOGUE JAPAN WOMEN OF THE YEAR 2018”

VOGUE JAPAN recently revealed its “VOGUE JAPAN WOMEN OF THE YEAR 2018”! Unlike the male counterpart to this, GQ JAPAN’s “GQ MEN OF THE YEAR 2018”, there aren’t specific categories. Instead these awards look to name women who influenced society this year. Winners include Aimyon, Nakamura Anne, Matsumoto Honoka, and Mori Hikari. See who else won below!

GQ JAPAN Reveals Its “GQ MEN OF THE YEAR 2018”

GQ JAPAN recently named its “GQ MEN OF THE YEAR 2018”! Takeuchi Ryoma and Lily Franky both won the Actor of the Year Award. After their massive comeback, DA PUMP won the Pop Icon of the Year Award. The iconic Miwa Akihiro was given the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Mao Asada took home the Woman of the Year Award. See who else won below!

DAM Releases Its Karaoke Rankings for the End of the Heisei Era

With the Heisei era coming to an end next spring, karaoke company DAM has released its charts for the era. It doesn’t cover the whole Heisei era, which began in 1989, but starts with DAM’s creation in April 1994, and ends with this past October.

Hitoto Yo‘s “Hanamizuki” topped DAM’s list of top 50 songs, while Ayumi Hamasaki topped the artist ranking. AKB48′s “Heavy Rotation” is the song with the most months at #1. Check out the rest of the rankings below!

DA PUMP release MVs for new version of  “Gokigendazee! ~Nothing But Something~” & “if…”

Male group DA PUMP has released two brand new MVs, both of previously released singles.

Riding high of the success of their summer single “USA”, the group is preparing for the release of a new best album in December. “USA” became a surprise hit, topping multiple digital charts and achieving over 117 million views on YouTube.
