Actors Erika Toda & Tsuyoshi Muro are currently starring in the TBS drama series “Don’t Forget Me”.

In the show Toda plays a doctor who is engaged to another doctor, but she isn’t really in love with him. Eventually she runs into Muro’s character who is a unsuccessful author, he helps ends meet by having a part-time job. 

20 years with Utada Hikaru

Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of the most exemplary Asian singers of all time. On December 9th, 1998 Utada Hikaru released her debut Japanese single “Automatic/time will tell“.

Shortly after the landscape of the J-pop and Asian music scene would be changed forever. “Automatic / time will tell” was an instant hit on the Oricon charts. It was originally released in two versions, a 12cm CD ver and a classic 8cm CD version.

Tower Records unveils their Yearly Bestseller Lists for 2018

This week Tower Records Japan have chosen to announce the releases which stand at the top of their Bestseller lists for the year 2018.  These rankings reflect the combined total sales of the Japanese, Imported, Limited, Analog, etc. versions of each Album/DVD sold through Tower Records stores from December 1st of last year through November 30th of this year.

The Japanese Year-End chart was topped by Namie Amuro’s “Finally” for the second year in a row, while the Foreign Year-End chart has been topped by the original soundtrack for film The Greatest Showman. The Jazz category was ruled by John Coltraine’s “Both Directions at Once: The Lost Album”, with Teodor Currentzis & MusicAeterna’s interpretation of Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 taking the top spot in the Classical category.  Finally, the top selling single at Tower Records’ stores was King & Prince’s “Cinderella Girl.”

Nozomi Tsuji gives birth to 4th child

Mama talent Nozomi Tsuji has given birth to her 4th child!

The former Morning Musume member shared the news on her official Instagram account, and ameba blog. Weighing in at 5 pounds and 13 ounces Tsuji gave birth to a healthy baby boy today on December 8th.

Tomomi “The Voice of Asia” Itano to release NEW single in 2019

2019 will be starting off with a bang thanks to Tomomi Itano! The Cool Japan entrepreneuress has announced the release of a brand new single.

Currently untitled, the single is scheduled to be released on February 13th, 2019. It will be her 11th single overall, and first physical single since “Just as I am” released back in February 2018.  

Former Morning Musume member Riho Sayashi leaves UP-FRONT agency

It has been announced that former Morning Musume member Riho Sayashi has decided to part ways with her agency, UP-FRONT PROMOTION.

The announcement was made on the official Hello!Project website, Sayashi’s contract actually expired at the end of November but the news wasn’t posted until now.
