Here we are, in the final days of the Heisei era. It’s an exciting time, a time to look towards the future, but also a time to look back on the past 30 years. With this being Japan, there is A LOT of looking back, more so than towards the future it seems. But for those looking forward to the Reiwa era, one question keeps popping up: What will it be like? Ever since this era was named a few weeks ago, I’ve been asked what this new era will bring musically. I’m now going to give my honest answer.
On April 27, indigo la End will release their new digital single, “Hanikande Shimatta Natsu.” This is the band’s first release since “Hokorobi Gokko”, their digital single from last October. indigo la End describes “Hanikande Shimatta Natsu” as a song full of “indigo la End-ness.” Judge for yourself by watching the video for it below!

Dignitary Rola has unveiled a refreshing new look for the season! She’s chopped off her signature gorgeous locks in favor of a more short hair style.
Debuting the new look on her official Instagram account, fans were quite shocked due to Rola having longer hair for basically her entire career. The reactions have been very positive so far, with her post being flooded with comments calling her cool and sexy!
In September of last year, Ryuichi Sakamoto and U-zhaan released a new version of Sakamoto’s 1998 song “energy flow”, titled “energy flow – rework.” A new version of the reworked version, “Energy Flo”, is set for digital release on April 26. This new version features Tamaki ROY and Chinza DOPENESS, as U-zhaan intended for his first rework of the song. A music video for “Energy Flo” has been released as well. The clip features all four musicians in a bathhouse.
In related news, another of Chinza DOPENESS’s projects, FNCY, released their new digital single, “DRVN'”, on April 12. The song is part of Honda’s “Me and Honda” promotional campaign. Ahead of the release of their debut album on July 10, FNCY has released the music video for “DRVN’.” Check it out below, along with the video for “Energy Flo”!

Singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has announced her very first music release of 2019, a digital single titled “Kimi ga It ne Kuretara“. It’s been over a year since the release of her last new single “Kimi no Mikata”, however in between that she did release a re-cut digital single called “Kizunami”. A track from her already released album “Japamyu”.
“Kimi ga It ne Kuretara” is the theme song for the drama series “Mukai no Bazuru Kazoku“, and as usual it was written and produced by Yasutaka Nakata.
