Akina Nakamori Rumored to Make an Appearance at the 73rd NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen

On August 8, Nikkan Gendai revealed that there is a real possibility that singer Akina Nakamori will appear at the year-end show NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen. Although Akina has not made a public appearance since 2017, in order to celebrate her 40th anniversary since debut this year NHK aired the concert “Akina Nakamori Special Live 1989.” The broadcast was said to be a huge hit with the viewers, to the point where NHK staff are now approaching Akina about an offer to appear at Kohaku at the end of this year. 

Sexy Zone to Release New Single “Trust Me, Trust You.”

On September 7, Sexy Zone will release their new single, “Trust Me, Trust You.” The Hirai Dai-penned song serves as the theme song for the TV Asahi drama “Tomodachi Game R4”, which stars group member Fuma Kikuchi. The R&B song mirrors the themes of friendship and betrayal that are central to the drama.

The first B-side, “Sleepless”, is the theme song for the TV Tokyo drama “Akai Nurse Call”, which stars group member Shori Sato. “Wakusei”, the second B-side, is the NHK “Minna no Uta” song for August and September. A third B-side, the English-language “See you again”, will only appear on the single’s regular edition.

Sumika to Release New Album “For.”

On September 21, sumika will release their 4th full-length album “For.” A teaser for the album has been released on their official youtube channel.

INI Searches for Themselves in “Password” MV

On August 24, INI will release their third single, “M.” The “M” stands for “mysterious.” Playing on that, the A-side for the single is the song “Password.” The song deals with searching for an unknown self that you nor others knows.

In keeping with the theme, the covers for “M” are based off of puzzles, with the limited edition ones being based on a Rubik’s Cube and the regular edition a crossword puzzle.

INI has now released the music video for “Password”, which is now available digitally. The video was shot in South Korea and plays on the themes of self-discovery and puzzles that this single is based on. Check it out below!

Snow Man to Release New Album “Snow Labo. S2”

As was rumored, the new song and video, “JUICY”, that Snow Man released last week is for their new album! On September 21, the group will release their second album, “Snow Labo. S2”

The album’s title stems from the “Snow Labo.”, a place where Snow Man tries new things and music genres. The group chose to name their new album after this place. Each of the nine members is in charge of a genre.

“Snow Labo. S2” will come in three editions: CD+DVD / CD+Blu-ray limited edition A, CD+DVD / CD+Blu-ray limited edition B, and CD only regular edition. Limited edition A’s second disc will include four music videos, among other things. Limited edition B will contain three unit songs, with their music videos appearing on that edition’s second disc, among other things. The regular edition will include a bonus track.
