On June 24, TV Tokyo aired this year’s edition of its annual mid-year music special, “TV Tokyo Music Festival 2020.” The show was hosted by TOKIO’s Kokubun Taichi for the seventh consecutive year. He was joined by Hirosue Ryoko, who also hosted last year.

“TV Tokyo Music Festival 2020” was a smaller than previous years due to COVID-19. The show largely consisted of archive footage from the likes of Ayumi Hamasaki, Arashi, Koda Kumi, Kudo Shizuka, Tomomi Kahara, and Mizuki Alisa. However, there were new peformances by the likes of Kis-My-ft2, AKB48, Kanjani8, Novelbright, NOKKO, and Macaroni Enpitsu. Check out the show below!

Johnny’s group SixTONES is back with the release of their second single “NAVIGATOR“. The song is officially described as a rock dance tune, serving as the perfect sequel to their debut single “Imitation Rain”.

The YouTube version of the MV was uploaded on the groups official page. The MV is reminiscent of science fiction films, set in a futuristic world that is the opposite of “Imitation Rain”, the MV makes liberal use of CG to create the setting and set the tone for the MV. Check it out below:

On the streaming side, one song from this year was certified Platinum for reaching 100,000,000 streams: Official HIGE DANdism‘s “I LOVE…”

King & Prince also topped the Single chart with “Mazy Night”, selling 518,262 copies in its first week.

TWICE also topped the Album chart with “MORE & MORE”, selling 36,068 copies in its second week.

YOASOBI topped the Digital Single chart for the third consecutive week with their digital single “Yoru ni Kakeru”, selling 24,137 copies in its fifth week in the chart’s top 10.
