We’re back with this week’s edition of Oricon Flashback! This is where we look back on what topped the charts this week 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years ago. Think of it as a way to reminisce and learn about the past of Japanese music.

Hoshino Gen is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of this solo career! As part of this celebration, on October 21, he will release “Gen Hoshino Singles Box ‘GRATITUDE’.” This release contains all 11 of Gen’s singles, in their CD+DVD format. It will also include a bonus CD and a bonus DVD, bringing the total to 12 CDs and 11 DVDs.

The bonus CD that comes with “Gen Hoshino Singles Box ‘GRATITUDE'” features a number of songs, including Gen’s digital singles from earlier this year, “Oriai” and “Uchi de Odorou”, as well as other content, like his All Night Nippon radio jingles. The bonus DVD features a look back on the highlights of the DVDs that are included in this release.

The “Gen Hoshino Singles Box ‘GRATITUDE'” box opens two ways, so that depending on the way the the box is opened, the original CD spines can be seen, or the new ones created for this collection.

Keyakizaka46 topped the Hot Albums chart with their new farewell best album “Eien Yori Nagai Isshun ~Ano Koro, Tashika ni Sonzai Shita Watashitachi~.”

BTS topped the Streaming Songs chart with their digital single “Dynamite”, topping the chart for the fifth non-consecutive week.

BUMP OF CHICKEN topped the Download Songs chart for the second consecutive week with their digital single “Acacia.”

Wagakki Band topped the Download Albums chart with their new album “TOKYO SINGING.”

Johnny’s group SixTONES has released their latest MV for their upcoming single “NEW ERA“. The full YouTube ver. was uploaded on their official account today.

“NEW ERA” is the groups 3rd single, and will serve as the opening theme for the anime series “Hanyo no Yashahime”. The song has been officially described as an emotional and speedy “loudrock” inspired track, with the lyrics portraying a strong message about having the will to stick it through with friends and comrades.

SixTONES past MVs for their singles heavily incorporated CGI, but for “NEW ERA” they went with a more natural approach. Check it out below!
