Tokyo-based Korean artist YonYon will release her new digital single, “Capsule”, on Janaury 15. This is her first release in about a year and a half. For this song, she is joined by D.A.N. member Daigo Sakuragi. YonYon and Daigo wrote and composed the song, while the Korean artist No2zcat arranged it.

“Capsule” is a blend of languages (Korean, Japanese, and English) and sounds (minimal downtempo and upbeat club). Check it out below!

Today, MUSIC STATION launched “Spotlight”, a new project on its official YouTube channel. The goal of “Spotlight” is to introduce the next generation of artists to the public.

The first artist to be featured on “Spotlight” is Suda Keina. MUSIC STATION asked viewers on their official site what new artists they would like to see. Keina received 50,000 requests from viewers, resulting in him being the debut “Spotlight” artist.

In his “Spotlight” feature, Keina performed his song “veil.” He’s known for rarely appearing in the media, so this is a rare opportunity to see him perform. There is also a video giving some background on Keina. Check out the videos below!

This week’s episode was a two hour special featuring various clips from the course of the show’s history. The clips include the likes of Seiko Matsuda, Shonentai, LiSA, DISH//, Snow Man, SixTONES, Hoshino Gen, and NiziU.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the world, with many Japanese companies leaving Tokyo for rural areas. According to Shukan Bunshun, the talent agency Amuse is one such company. Amuse, home to the likes of Perfume, Hoshino Gen, BABYMETAL, Southern All Stars, and Masaharu Fukuyama, is moving its headquarters to the base of Mount Fuji.

“Sales were comparable to Johnny & Associates and Yoshimoto Kogyo, reaching a record ¥58,806,000,000 in fiscal year 2019,” says an entertainment journalist. “Most of the revenue comes from concerts, theatrical peformances, and commercials, all of which have been seriously damaged by the pandemic. Sales are expected to decrease by nearly ¥20,000,000,000 in fiscal year 2020, which ends in March 2021.”

Natural beauties The Kano Sisters have gained quite a following on Instagram over the past few years due to their “otaku” hobbies. Along with photos of their daily life and media appearances, their page is filled to the brim of them doing cosplay in very impressive looking costumes and makeup.

Their latest Instagram post to make headlines showed off their unique way of storing their most beloved manga and anime figurines. One of the sisters Mika Kano began this last week by posting a photo of her Jujutsu Kaisen manga collection stored inside of a case by luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton.

Fans were amazed that she stored her manga there, but she was able to top herself this week with her selected collection from JoJo’z Bizzare Adventure.

This week, LiSA retook the top spot on the Hot 100 single chart with her single “Homura”, with 18,834 points, topping the chart for the seventh non-consecutive week.

Arashi retook the top spot on the Hot Albums chart with their album “This is Arashi”, topping the chart for the second non-consecutive week.

BTS topped the Artist 100 chart, topping it for the third non-consecutive week.

Ayase topped the Hot 100 Lyricists chart for the second consecutive week.

Ayase also topped the Hot 100 Composers chart for the second consecutive week.

BTS also topped the Streaming Songs chart with their digital single “Dynamite” for the tenth non-consecutive week.

LiSA also topped the Download Songs chart for the 12th consecutive week with her single “Homura.”

Soken Masayoshi topped the Download Albums chart with his soundtrack “FINAL FANTASY XIV: SHADOWBRINGERS – EP3.”
