January will be a busy month for tofubeats. His first best-of compilation TOFU BEST ~Uchira no tofubeats~ will come out alongside a two-disc remix album entitled POSITIVE REMIXES on the 20th, and four days later, a new club event YYY will launch including him on a fixed lineup of DJs alongside kz(livetune), banvox, and Nakata Yasutaka.

REMIXES features new takes on tracks from tofubeats’s albums POSITIVE and First Album, with contributions from Komuro Tetsuya, PARKGOLF, Yoshinori Sunahara, Pa’s Lam System, banvox, and more. Check out the tracklists and PV for “Koromogae feat. BONNIE PINK -tofubeats Remix” after the jump!

This year’s edition of Music Station’s year end special, Music Station Super Live, will air on December 25 at 7PM – 11:10 PM. It is being held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Chiba Prefecture. Today, 42 acts were revealed to be performing on the show. They include the likes of Arashi, YUKI, KAT-TUN, and Mr.Children. Check out the full list after the jump!

On December 9, Anna Tsuchiya will release a new mini album consisting of covers of Western songs, titled “NAKE’d ~Soul Issue~.” This release sees her covering the likes of Sam Smith, Backstreet Boys, and Amy Winehouse. It will be released in a CD+DVD edition and a CD only edition. The DVD will contain music videos for all 7 songs on the mini album. Anna recently release the music video for her cover of Labelle’s 1975 hit “Lady Marmalade.” It is a video of her recording the song in the studio, like all the videos with this release. The manga “Chihayafuru” has spawned an anime series, a novel series, and now a movie. The movie adaption of “Chihayafuru” will hit Japanese theaters next spring. The first part, “Chihayafuru ~Kami no Ku~” will be released on March 19, while the second part, “Chihayafuru ~Shimo no Ku~”, will be released April 29. The manga, created by Suetsugu Yuki, debuted in 2007. It tells the story of a schoolgirl named Ayase Chihaya who starts playing the card game Hyakunin Isshu karuta competitively after befriending a new classmate named Arata Wataya. Over the years, she loses contact with her friends and Wataya moves away. Now in high school, Chihaya comes back in contact with an old karuta-playing friend, Mashima Taichi. The duo forms a karuta club at their school, with Chihaya hoping that she will come in contact with Wataya again.  Chihaya Ayase will be played by Hirose Suzu, the new classmate will be played by Mackenyu, and Mashima Taichi will be played by Nomura Shuhei.

Perfume will sing the theme song for the “Chihayafuru” movies. The theme is a new song titled “FLASH.” There is mutual love here, seeing as how Suetsugu Yuki is a fan of Perfume and Perfume are fans of “Chihayafuru.” Today, the trailer for the movies was released. “FLASH” can be heard in it.  There is is no word on when “FLASH” will be released.
