Hoshino Gen’s “Cube” MV Features Suda Masaki Cameo

On October 18, Hoshino Gen released his new digital single, “Cube.” The song serves as the theme song for the new Suda Masaki film “CUBE Ichido Haittara, Saigo”, out October 22. “Cube” is something new for Gen, with the lyrics and the edgier song production being more in line with the film’s aesthetic than his own.

Gen has now released the music video for “Cube.” MIKIKO, who has previously choreographed Gen’s music videos “SUN”, “Koi”, and “Doraemon”, as well as his recent tours, is pulling double duty time around, both choreographing and directing this video. Masaki also makes a cameo appearance. Check it out below!

LDH and Ralph Lauren Team Up for “Tokyo Stadium” Collection

LDH and Polo Ralph Lauren have collaborated on a new collection, “Tokyo Stadium”, out October 21. This collaboration sees LDH’s history, EXILE HIRO‘s thoughts, and Japan’s pop culture and sporting spirit fused with Ralph Lauren’s “Stadium Collection”, which debuted in 1992.

EXILE appears in the visuals for the collection, which will be used in the its global campaign. “Tokyo Stadium” marks the first time that a collaboration between Ralph Lauren and a Japanese artists has expanded overseas.

A campaign video for “Tokyo Stadium” has now been released. It features the new EXILE song “DOWN TOWN TOKYO”, from their upcoming album “PHOENIX”, out January 1. Check out the video and the collection below!

King & Prince, Snow Man, YOASOBI, Ayase, back number, B’z, and GLAY Top the Billboard Japan Charts for the Week of 10/4 – 10/10

This week, King & Prince topped the Hot 100 single chart with their new single “Koifuru Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou”, with 14,302 points.

Snow Man topped the Hot Albums chart for the second consecutive week with their album “Snow Mania S1.”

YOASOBI retook the top spot on the Artist 100 chart.

Ayase topped the Hot 100 Lyricists chart for the eighth consecutive week.

Ayase also topped the Hot 100 Composers chart for eighth consecutive week.

back number topped the Streaming Songs chart for the sixth consecutive week with their digital single “Suiheisen.”

B’z topped the Download Songs chart with their new digital single “UNITE.”

GLAY topped the Download Albums chart with their new album “FREEDOM ONLY.”

Seiko Matsuda Continues Her 40th Anniversary with New Album

Seiko Matsuda is not letting her 40th anniversary end! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she is continuing to be in anniversary mode, deciding to release the new album “SEIKO MATSUDA 2021” on October 20. This album serves as a sequel to her previous album, “SEIKO MATSUDA 2020.” It will include the remake digital singles “Aoi Sangoshou ~Blue Lagoon~” and “Jikan no Kuni no Alice ~Alice in the world of time~.” In total, the album will feature five self-covers and five new songs.

“SEIKO MATSUDA 2021” will come in three editions: CD+DVD limited edition, CD only regular edition, and an UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE edition. The DVD that comes with the limited edition and the Blu-ray that comes with the UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE edition features music videos and other special content. The UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE edition also comes in a special box which includes both “SEIKO MATSUDA 2020” and “SEIKO MATSUDA 2021” on vinyl, a poster, and a LP-sized booklet.

In tandem with the album release, Seiko has released the music video for one of the new songs on the album, “Watashi no Ai.” It was written and composed by Zaitsu Kazuo. He has previously collaborated with Seiko on the songs “Cherry Blosssom”, “Natsu no Tobira”, “Shiroi Parasol”, and “Nobara no Etude.” The song is a means of Seiko conveying her feelings to her fans. She hopes that once the pandemic is over, she and her fans can reunite at concerts to sing the song together. Check out the video, which was directed by Seiko, below!

Mukai Taichi Flaunts His Fashion Bravery in “Bravest” MV

Mukai Taichi releases his latest digital single, “Bravest”, on October 13. As previously reported, the song serves as the theme song for the new season of the TV Tokyo anime series “Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken.”

The music video for “Bravest” has now been released. Taichi styled himself for the video, in one scene dressing himself in Tomo Koizumi‘s signature colorful ruffles. Check it out below!

On November 14, this year’s edition of the MTV Europe Music Awards will take place in Budapest, Hungary. One of the awards given out that night is for Best Japan Act. The winner is based on fan voting. See who was nominated below!

This week, King & Prince topped the Combined Single chart with their new single “Koifuru Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou”, with 445,778 points in its first week.

GLAY topped the Combined Album chart with their new album “FREEDOM ONLY”, with 32,716 points in its first week.

King & Prince also topped the Single chart with “Koifuru Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou”, selling 441,973 copies in its first week.

GLAY also topped the Album chart with “FREEDOM ONLY”, selling 30,738 copies in its first week.

BE:FIRST topped the Digital Single chart with their new digital single “Kick Start”, selling 15,748 copies its first week.

Naniwa Danshi Debuts with “Ubu LOVE”

On November 12, the Johnny’s Jr. group will Naniwa Danshi will make their debut with the single “Ubu LOVE.” The song serves as the theme song for the TV Asahi drama “Kieta Hatsukoi”, which stars Naniwa Danshi member Shunsuke Michieda. “Ubu LOVE” is a song that expresses the sparkle of first love.

Naniwa Danshi’s debut single will come in three editions: CD+DVD / Blu-ray limited edition 1, CD+DVD / Blu-ray limited edition 2, and CD only regular edition. One of the B-sides on the regular edition, “Yume Watashi”, serves as the support song for “2021 ABC Summer High School Baseball” and the theme song of the ANN sports program “Netto Koshien.”

Ahead of the release of “Ubu LOVE”, Naniwa Danshi has released the music video for the song. It features the group as a team of gas station workers. Check it out below, along with more information on their debut release!
