The full MV for Kana Nishino‘s upcoming single “Girls” has aired in full on Japanese television. Kana’s 31st single overall, “Girls” will be released on July 26th, 2017.
“Girls” is an upbeat pop number very reminiscent of Kana’s early works. The video features Kana and a bunch of other women confidently walking down a street. “Girls” serves as the theme for the video-game “Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaires’ Conspiracy.” Kana drew inspiration from the main character Katrielle while working on the song. She wanted to inspire women to have the courage to stand up against all their tribulations whatever they may be, whether it be studying, recovering from a heartbreak, or simply following their dreams.
Another main focal point of the MV is seeing Kana’s shorter hair in motion. For the release she cut off 31cm! The covers and tracklist for “Girls” can be seen here, watch the full MV below the jump!
