Johnny & Associates Opens New YouTube Channel “Johnny’s Gaming Room”

Earlier today, Johnny & Associates soft opened a new YouTube channel, “Johnny’s Gaming Room.” A teaser video for the channel, which officially opens on New Year’s Day, was released. In it, various Johnny’s group can be seen playing video games.

When the channel officially launches on January 1 at 9 PM JST, it will have about 15 regular members appearing.

As part of the soft launch of “Johnny’s Gaming Room”, several different groups will appear on the channel over the coming days. Check out the schedule below, along with the teaser video and channel’s Twitter account!

Kalen Anzai Teams Up with Charli XCX for “Genjitsu Camera”

On December 15, Kalen Anzai will release her new digital single, “Genjitsu Camera.” The song serves as the CM song for Laguna Illuminations’ “Hikari no Lagoon.”

The lyrics for “Genjitsu Camera” were written by Kalen, with the composition by Charli XCX, Danny L Harle, Radical Hardcore Clique, and Kanata Okajima. Danny and Radical Hardcore Clique are also in charge of the song’s arrangement.

The retro-futuristic song deals with the topic of people living in the online world of social media, and the edited photos they post becoming a part of an alternative reality.

Snow Man, HKT48, Utada Hikaru, YOASOBI, and Macaroni Enpitsu Top the Oricon Charts for the Week of 11/29 – 12/5

This week, Snow Man topped the Combined Single chart with their new single “Secret Touch”, with 738,116 points in its first week.

HKT48 topped the Combined Album chart with their new album “Outstanding”, with 94,809 points in its first week.

Snow Man also topped the Single chart with “Secret Touch”, selling 734,494 copies in its first week.

HKT48 also topped the Album chart with “Outstanding”, selling 94,548 copies in its first week.

Utada Hikaru topped the Digital Single chart for the second consecutive week with their digital single “Kimi ni Muchuu”, selling 23,191 copies its second week.

YOASOBI topped the Digital Album chart with their new mini album “THE BOOK 2”, selling 10,448 copies in its first week.

Macaroni Enpitsu topped the Streaming chart with their digital single “Nandemo nai yo”, with 6,741,946 streams in its fifth week.

aiko Announces Marriage

Today, aiko held the final concert of her tour, “aiko Live Tour ‘Love Like Pop vol.22′”, at Tokyo Garden Theatre. During one of the MC portions of the show, she made a sudden announcement: “I got married!”

This announcement came as a shock, with even her band members not knowing about her marriage.

aiko later explained that the announcement came a year late due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from having as much contact with her fans as before.

Ai Otsuka, AI, SEKAI NO OWARI, and More Added to “MUSIC STATION ULTRA SUPER LIVE 2021” Lineup

On December 24, “MUSIC STATION ULTRA SUPER LIVE 2021” will air. The first set of performers was previously announced and it includes the likes of Snow ManTokyo JihenYOASOBILiSAPerfumeAimyonNiziU, and DISH//.

The second set of performers was recently revealed, and it includes names such as Ai Otsuka, AI, SEKAI NO OWARI, Gospellers, and Def Tech. The new acts added are taking part in one of the two medleys for the show, a Christmas one and one in honor of the 35th anniversary of “MUSIC STATION.” The new acts are posted below, along with the songs they’ll be singing!

JO1, INI, and Ado Win at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards

On December 11, the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards were held in Paju, South Korea. Three Japanese acts received awards at the show.

INI won “Favorite Asian Artist”, while JO1 won “Best Asian Artist JAPAN.” Ado won the Japanese section of the “Best New Asian Artist” award.

INI and JO1 had a joint performance titled “One Dream”, where they performed their songs “Rocketeer” and “Bokura no Kisetsu”, respectively. Check out their performances below, as well as winner reactions!
