Winners of the 43rd Hochi Film Awards

The 43rd Hochi Film Awards has announced its winners! This also marks the beginning of the domestic film awards season. Shinohara Ryoko won her first Best Actress award, after portraying opposite characters in the movies “Ningyo no nemuru ie” and “Sunny: Tsuyoi Kimochi Tsuyoi Ai”. The late Kiki Kirin’s impressive performance won her the Best Supporting Actress award. Ninomiya Kazunari won the Best Supporting Award, which makes him the 2nd Johnnys to be awarded by Hochi Film after Okada Junichi (Eien no Zero).

Special Award was given to phenomenal hit “Kamera o tomeru na!”  Check out the rest of the winners below.

On December 21, this year’s edition of Music Station’s year end special, Music Station Super Live, will air. The show starts at 7 PM JST and ends at 11:10 PM JST. Earlier today, the first set of performers, containing 41, acts was announced. This roster includes the likes of Arashi, Thelma Aoyama, Daichi Miura, Wagakki Band, Yuzu, Hoshino Gen, Nogizaka46, KinKi Kids, and CHEMISTRY. See who else is performing below!

Stars Attend the Pre-Fall 2019 Valentino and Dior Shows in Tokyo

This has been a busy week for fashion in Tokyo. Two fashion powerhouses, Valentino and Dior, showed their new Pre-Fall 2019 collections in the city.

On November 27, Valentino held its first ever fashion show in Toyko, debuting its Pre-Fall 2019 collection for men and women. The collection was a mixture of Western and Japanese aesthetics, with creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli saying, “I love the culture of Japan. It’s so modern with a sense of tradition which is romantic, not nostalgic—it’s part of the present.”

Various celebrities attended the show, including DEAN FUJIOKA, ROLA, Perfume, AMIAYA, and Ryusei Ryo.

On November 30, Dior presented it’s Pre-Fall 2019 men’s show. The collection was a collaboration with artist Hajime Sorayama. The line featured his signature robots, mixed with cherry blossoms at times. The show took place around a nearly 40 foot statue created by Sorayama for the show.
