Winners of the 43rd Hochi Film Awards

The 43rd Hochi Film Awards has announced its winners! This also marks the beginning of the domestic film awards season. Shinohara Ryoko won her first Best Actress award, after portraying opposite characters in the movies “Ningyo no nemuru ie” and “Sunny: Tsuyoi Kimochi Tsuyoi Ai”. The late Kiki Kirin’s impressive performance won her the Best Supporting Actress award. Ninomiya Kazunari won the Best Supporting Award, which makes him the 2nd Johnnys to be awarded by Hochi Film after Okada Junichi (Eien no Zero).

Special Award was given to phenomenal hit “Kamera o tomeru na!”  Check out the rest of the winners below.

Best Movie: Korou no Chi (The Blood of the Wolves)

Best Director: Omori Tatsuchi (Nichinichi Kore Kojitsu “Everyday is a Good Day”)

Best Actor: Yakusho Koji (Korou no Chi “The Blood of the Wolves”)

Best Actress: Shinohara Ryoko (Ningyo no nemuru ie “The House Where The Mermaid Sleeps” / Sunny: Tsuyoi Kimochi Tsuyoi Ai “Sunny: Our Hearts Beat Together” )

Best Supporting Actor: Ninomiya Kazunari (Kensatsugawa no Zainin “Killing For The Prosecution”)

Best Supporting Actress: Kiki Kirin (Mori no iru basho “Mori, THe Artist’s Habitat / Manbiki kazoku “Shoplifters” / Nichinichi Kore Kojitsu “Everyday is a Good Day”)

Best Newcomer: Minami Sara (Shino-chan wa Jibun no Namae ga Ienai “Shino Can’t Say Her Own Name”), Makita Aju (Shino-chan wa Jibun no Namae ga Ienai “Shino Can’t Say Her Own Name”)

Best Foreign Movie: Wonder

Best Animation Fim: Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer

Special Award: Kamera o tomeru na! “One Cut of The Dead”
