This past Tuesday, indie singer ZOMBIE-CHANG released her new EP “Koi no Vacances E.P.” It is being distributed digitally for free through OMAKE CLUB. “Koi no Vacances E.P.” consists of 2 new songs and 1 remix for each of those songs.
Today, ZOMBIE-CHANG released the music video for the EP’s second track, “SUMMER TIME.” The song is moody, yet somewhat bright. In the video, she can be seen singing the song in front of a screen with different projections on it. The whole concept has a very Tumblr aesthetic. On the single side, Masaharu Fukuyama topped the chart with “I am a HERO”, with its CD+Towel Limited Edition selling 51,172 copies. Two of the 3 editions of this single took the top 2 spots on the chart. Between its 3 editions, “I am a HERO” sold 100,076 copies, making it the best selling single this week.
On the album side, Porno Graffitti took the top spot with “RHINOCEROS”, with its CD+DVD Limited Edition selling 38,630 copies. Between its 2 editions, “RHINOCEROS” sold 42,430 copies, making it the best selling album this week.

The Oricon physical music sales charts for the week of 8/17-8/23 has been released.
Masaharu Fukuyama released a brand new physical single, his first in over two years, on August 19th to celebrate his 25th anniversary in the industry. The single, called “I am a HERO”, topped the chart with 158,393 physical singles sold.
This past week, Porno Graffitti released RHINOCEROS, their first album in 3 years and 5 months. Their 10th original album, it hit number one on the albums chart with 41,912 units sold in its first week. The long running rock group will go on a 29-location, 37-show Japan tour starting in September in support of this release.

On September 9, Hata Motohiro will release his new single, “Q & A.” The song serves as the theme song for the movie “Tenku no Hachi”, which opens in theaters on September 12. One of the B-sides on the single is titled “Koi wa Yasashi Nobe no Hana yo.” It can currently be heard in the Maki Horikita-fronted CMs for Kracie’s Ichikami line of hair care products. The limited edition of the single comes with a special 44 page booklet in honor of Motohiro’s 9th anniversary.
Today, Motohiro released the short music video for “Q & A.” The clip was directed by Bamba Shuichi, who has previously worked with the likes of Shiina Ringo, Seiko Oomori, and BUMP OF CHICKEN. The video was shot earlier this month, during a shoot that lasted all day. In the pv, Motohiro can see playing his acoustic guitar in the scorching wilderness, and falling down a slope. Yesterday popular utaite Lon‘s cover album, “LonCover J-POP ZOO“, was released. Today she revealed a full music video for one of the songs featured on the album. It was released to the world via her Niconico and Youtube channels. The song in question is a cover of popular JUDY AND MARY song, Sobakasu. It served as the first opening theme for shounen anime, Rurouni Kenshin and is considered a classic anisong.
The song was produced by Onda Yoshito (ex. JUDY AND MARY bassist) and Toriumi Takeshi. The video was made by Rabbit MACHINE. The illustrations for the album covers was done by Akiakane.

Kiko Mizuhara and Big Bang’s G-Dragon have been the subject of rumors in regards to their relationship for a while. South Korean media is now reporting that the relationship between the couple is over.
The cause? Their busy careers, according to a friend of G-Dragon. They haven’t been able to spend much time together. This is partially due to G-Dragon focusing on Big Bang’s upcoming album and its supporting world tour.
Yesterday, Gesu no Kiwami Otome. announced that they will be releasing a new digital single on August 28. The song is titled “Muku na Kisetsu.” It is the band’s first summer song. “Muku na Kisetsu” deals with the transience of late summer, making it a timely release. It is a fast song that is heavy on the piano.
