JOYSOUND Releases Its Year End Karaoke Rankings for 2015

Japan’s largest karaoke service, JOYSOUND, has released its year end rankings for 2015! The most popular song of the year overall is Hata Motohiro’s “Himawari no Yakusoku”, while the most popular artist of the year overall is Nishino Kana.

The most popular song on UTASUKI, JOYSOUND’s social network, is May’n and Nakajima Megumi’s “Lion”, while the most popular artist on UTASUKI is Nana Mizuki. The most most popular enka / kayokyoku song is Sayuri Ishikawa’s “Amagigoe.” Motohiro’s “Himawari no Yakusoku” also tops the anime / tokusatsu / game music ranking. The most popular vocaloid song is WhiteFlame and Hatsune Miku’s “Senbonzakura.” The most popular Touhou Project song is IOSYS and miko’s “Chiruno no Perfect-san Suu Kyoshitsu”, in its short and full versions. Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go” tops the Western song ranking, while PSY’s “Gangnam Style” tops the KPop song ranking. “Himawari no Yakusoku” by Hata Motohiro tops another ranking, this time the one for JOYSOUND’s smartphone app. WhiteFlame and Hatsune Miku’s “Senbonzakura” tops the ranking for karaoke via game systems, for both PlayStation and Nintendo 3DS.

FNS Kayousai Live Stream and Chat

At 7 PM JST on December 2, this year’s edition of Fuji TV’s year end music show FNS Kayousai will air. The show will be a little over 4 hours long. It’s hosted by Chisato Moritaka and Watabe Ken. Performers on the show include Arashi, HKT48, Kanjani8, Kis-My-Ft2, Koda Kumi, GENERATIONS, Kou Shibasaki, JUJU, Superfly, SMAP, Nogizaka46, Flower, BoA, MIYAVI, Momoiro Clover Z, Ken Hirai, Ayumi Hamasaki, and many more.

Kanon Fukada graduates from ANGERME

On November 29th Fukada Kanon graduated from ANGERME, during a special conert named “Kanon Fukada’s Graduation Special”. Her last live was held at the famous Nippon Budokan venue. The group performed 30 songs in total with the setlist composing of ANGERME’s entire career. Highlights include an 8 song medley where Kanon sang a song with each member of the group. Kanon chose “Watashi no Kokoro” as her solo graduation song, a non-single track from s/mileage‘s (ANGERME’s previous name) second album “Smile Sensation”.

While addressing the fans during her ceremony Kanon revealed that she intends to stay in the music industry hoping to become a lyricist;

“My life as an idol was really happy. Thanks, members of ANGERME. Thanks, all of our staff. Thanks, my fans. Someday, I want to write a song that will be the reason for ANGERME breaking through as a superstar. That is my dream, and I will make that dream happen! “.

Fukada Kanon originally became an idol way back in June 2004 as a member of H!P’s trainee program Hello Pro Egg, she eventually made her major debut in May 2010 as one of the original members of s/mileage.

Yuzuru Hanyu and Satoko Miyahara 1st, Takahito Mura and Mao Asada 3rd at NHK Trophy

From November 27 – 29, this year’s NHK Trophy took place in Nagano. This was the sixth and final event in the International Skating Union’s 2015 – 2016 Grand Prix Series. Japan sent 6 skaters and 2 ice dance teams to this competition. Japanese skaters won 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals at the event.

Yuzuru Hanyu won the men’s portion of NHK Trophy with a total score of 322.40, beating the combined score world record of 295.27 set by Canada’s Patrick Chan at 2013’s Trophee Eric Bompard. Yuzuru’s short program was given a score of 106.33, the best of the night. This short program score beat the world record of 101.45, which he set at last year’s Olympics. “I have been practicing very, very hard and am really happy with the score. I have to thank all of my teachers and coaches, including Brian (Orser). They deserve the credit,” he said after the short program. Yuzuru continued, “I felt I had to include two quads in the short program. As the Olympic champion I felt it is necessary as I prepare for the 2018 Olympics.” His first place finish in the short program brought back memories. “Like during the Olympic season I could do well in the short program,” he stated. “Now I would like to continue and do my best in the free skate.”
