It’s almost the end of the year so we are getting a lot of rankings for 2017, with yet another one for Johnnys.

Let’s talk about solo work! Johnnys idols are active not just with group activities but also with individual work such as dramas, movies, theater, variety and other fields. Modelpress conducted a survey asking “Which Johnnys talent is the most active in in 2017?” and readers vote on a Johnnys who stand out with their individual activities.

1. Sakurai Sho (Arashi)

Sakurai is active in a lot of areas including being a moderator and newscaster. He served as the MC of “THE MUSIC DAY” as well as the host of “Best Artist 2017”. He also served as special presenter for the “NNN House of Representatives Special Program ZERO × Election 2017”, and as main personality for the “24HR TV”. It was also announced that he will serve as a special caster for the “2018 Pyeongchang Olympic Games”

As an actor, he appeared in the Fuji TV SP drama “”Kimi ni Sasageru Emblem” last January and is starring in NTV drama “Saki ni Umareta Dake no Boku”. Sakurai will also be starring in a movie for the first time in 4 years in “Laplace Witch” (2018 GW release).

2. Kamenashi Kazuya (KAT-TUN)

In addition to appearing in the movies “P and JK” and “Beautiful Star”, he starred in the drama “Boku, Unmei no Hito Desu” last Spring with Yamashita Tomohisa. After 12 years, the duo reunited to release a new single “Senaka Goshi no Chance”.

He was also the main personality of the “24HR- TV” and the lead in the 24HR- TV drama special “Jidai o Tsukutta Otoko Aku Yu Monogatari”, the first drama SP to feature a celebrity.

Since KAT – TUN is currently in a charging period, Kamenashi also held his solo concert ” KAT – TUN KAZUYA KAMENASHI CONCERT TOUR 2017 The 1st ~ Follow me ~” this year. He also served as MC of a sports special program in NTV. In January, he will be starring in a new Fuji TV drama “FINAL CUT”.

The revival of the popular series after 7 years has been met with voices of joy. With a final episode of 16.4% and an average rating of 14.8%, the drama took the top spot for Summer dramas and also gained a favorable reception. Next year, Code Blue movie will be released (July 27, 2018).

4. Tamamori Yuta (Kis-My-Ft2)

In April, Tamamori appeared in the TBS drama “Reverse” alongside Fujiwara Tatsuya, Koike Teppei, Takahiro Miura, Ichihara Hayato and played the role of an older character as their classmate without a sense of incompatibility. It was also his first time challenging a mystery drama. His nickname “Asamin” became popular among viewers and it became an opportunity to widen his range of roles.

In October, he starred in TV Asahi’s “Juuyou Sankounin Tantei” and played the role of a handsome model who always became the “first witness” of a dead body.

In the movie “Miracle of Namiya General Store”, he played the role of a delinquent and in “Fullmetal Alchemist” he challenged a powerful action with the role of Edward Elric. At the world tour of “Fullmetal Alchemist”, he also advanced abroad by visiting Los Angeles and Paris.

He was also in charge of the choreography for Hey! Say! JUMP’s 10th anniversary debut theme song “I/O”. Yamada will also star in NTV’s new drama “Momikeshite Fuyu: Wagaya no Mondai Nakatta Koto ni” starting January 2018.
