Arashi will be releasing a new double A-side single titled “I seek / Daylight” on May 18. The A-sides will serve as drama theme songs starring Satoshi Ohno (Sekaiichi Muzukashii Koi) and Jun Matsumoto (99.9 Keiji Senmon Bengoshi). The last double A-side release of the group was 2013’s “Calling / Breathless”.
Check out the single covers, tracklist and song previews below.
“I seek” is about the dilemma of a man who’s clumsy in love: the way every day seems stagnant, and nothing seems to go well for him. However, this is a love song where ARASHI really show their worth, sung in a persistently positive and cheerful manner.
On the other hand, “Daylight” is linked to the world view of the TV drama, featuring both the strength of determination to take a challenge when there’s the slightest chance for success and also kindness, all wrapped up in a clear and warm melody. “Daylight” is also the first single title track to feature Sho Sakurai’s rapping since “Face Down” 4 years ago. The rap was Jun Matsumoto’s idea, and the Sakurai lyrics that made it a reality make the song even grander and more powerful. Also, the coupling track for the regular edition is “Tadaima,” a song made specially for the arena tour, ARASHI’s first in 9 years (17 shows in 6 venues nationwide are planned starting 4/23)!
