Juice=Juice and Masaharu Fukuyama top the Weekly Oricon Charts! 4/6 -4/12

The Oricon physical music chart sales rankings for the week of 4/6 – 4/12 has been released!

Hello! Project Idol group Juice=Juice released their 6th major single “Wonderful World / Ça va ? Ça va ?” on April 8th, the group’s first single to reach #1 on the Oricon charts and first not produced by Tsunku, selling 34,127 copies in its first week.

For the album charts, Masaharu Fukuyama has put out his cover album “Tamashii Riku” serving as a requiem for his radio show, which is set to end this year and includes the most requested songs during its final season, pushing 123,075 units in its first week.

Current Yearly Oricon Single and Album Charts

We’ve come across a set of Oricon charts that compiles the sales numbers for the Oricon year so far (it started in early December). Think of these as a first trimester chart. The top album so far this year is Sandaime J Soul Brothers’ “PLANET SEVEN”, with 782,594 copies sold. The top single so far this year is AKB48’s “Green Flash”, with 1,031,799 copies sold. Perfume Releases Short PV for “Relax In The City”

As previously reported, Perfume will release their new single “Relax In The City / Pick Me Up” on April 29. They’ve already released the music video for “Pick Me Up.” Now, Perfume has released the one for the single’s first A-side. “Relax In The City” is the CM song for the beverage Sapporo Green Aroma. The music video for the song features the ladies singing the song at a seaside setting. Check it out after the jump!

MEG Is Moving to London

Electropop singer MEG has announced on her blog that she plans to move to London. She will be attending 3 schools while there. This will not result in her going on a musical hiatus though, as was the case when she moved to Paris in 2010. She will continue to make music and will return to Japan from time to time. She will still oversee her cafe, Maison du Ruban, as well as her clothing line with Beams, CAROLINA GLASER.

Aya Ueto and HIRO Are Expecting Their First Child

Aya Ueto is pregnant! This will be the first child for both her and her husband HIRO. The couple married on September 14, 2012. She is currently in her 3rd month of pregnancy. She discovered that she was pregnant in the middle of last month while filming her new TV Asahi drama “I’m Home.” Aya says that she is happy about her pregnancy. She thanked her supporters and vowed to continue to do her best. We here at AramaJapan wish them the best on this joyous occasion!
